According to an EBGames listing, Activision will be releasing a DS program called Spanish for Everyone on October 16th, at a cost of $29.99. Based on a brisk Google search, it appears that Spanish for Everyone is also the title of a defunct PC language tutor from The Learning Company, as well as a DVD-based training system. It's great that Activision is getting into the language-learning "game," which is still a very new genre for the DS in the US, but we hope more effort is going into Spanish for Everyone than just porting some old PC language software that we'd probably be able to find in a value bin.

Nadie sabe hablar español bien, y aqui intentan imitarlo >.<
Yo no lo necesito, vivo en Chile y aqui es el primer idioma que se aprende ^-^
Y nadie usa la palabra "sanitario" para referirse a eso, se usa la palabra "baño", aunque esa misma palabra puede referirse a ducharse xD

Let the Spanish Showdown begin!
Panda: Si quieres retos de español, aqui estoy para retarte.
Obviamente nadie usa sanitario. Me pareció mas gracioso y factible en que aparezca como posible opción en un traductor como Google o Babelfish.
Saludos!
P.D. Soy de México! :P

How about Japanese For Everyone? A game that might actually be useful for something. Seriously, when was the last time a new rhythm game came out of Mexico? Or any other kind of game for that matter?

Spanish? Not useful for anything? That's completely ridiculous. It's estimated to be somewhere between the second and fourth most popular spoken languages in the world.

Thanks JC.
And as for ikiryou: We just started our own Game development team. Based in Monterrey, México. We're going to focus on XBLA games, since the SDK is out in the open, but I plan on doing something with the DS, since theres an SDK for that too.

JC: I'm fairly certain that there are more than enough Spanish-speaking DS gamers in the world who would love to be able to read and understand Japanese, so when they play imported games - from Japan - they can understand what's going on. I'm thinking it's a universal thing. Incidentally, the language you learn when you're born is nothing more than a product of your geography, and something born out of the necessity for communication. The language you choose to learn as a secondary language is something far different.
Nushio: I'm not sure if you meant to say that you'll be developing video games specifically en Espanol or just locating your HQ there for the tax breaks. Either way, best of luck with that endeavor.
At any rate, I'm learning Japanese, the alphabet, the different dialects as we speak. I learned French in high school and have zero intention of learning Spanish, because it's not necessary. My friends who are of Spanish/Hispanic/Latin descent generally speak fluent English [often better than most Americans] in addition to their own nation's dialects [Ecuadorian, Nicaraguan, Dominican, Puerto Rican]. They're as into Japanese culture as I am and in some cases moreso.
