We post a lot about
cases. We can't seem to help it; the DS is like a paper doll to us, and it needs an array of clothing. Also, we like to avoid scratching it when it's bouncing around in a backpack or purse. But not all cases work as advertised; there's nothing like unzipping your backpack only to find your games and system scattered around, lying in the layer of dust and debris that accumulates in the shadowed recess at the bottom of your bag. Others are just a pain; stretchy system "suspenders" are too tight or too loose, or snaps won't quite snap. Others seem to be dirt magnets and change color within hours of purchase, moving from cute light blue to nondescript brown. Tells us your bad case stories, so we know what to avoid.
On that note, are we the only ones not terribly pleased with the case included in the
Brain Age 2 bundle? The pockets for the carts are almost too tight, and the clasp doesn't lie flush with the case, which means it's more likely to pop open just when you
don't want it to pop open. As cases go, it's okay -- and it
looks great -- but we've seen better.

Yeah, those pockets are a snug fit. But I guess that's to ensure that when/if the case flies open, the games don't come tumbling out. I don't necessarily like that there's not at least a place to put a GBA cartridge (or a DS pack like the rumble pack or the memory pack for the Nintendo DS browser). Then again, that'd probably really bulk up the case and take away from its sleek profile.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - cases for the original Game Boy Advance make a perfect case for the DS Lite. Plus you've probably got one lying around that you can use. Go on, try it. You'll thank me...

this case/stand has served me nicely, but don't buy it from anywhere you can't see it in person, they make a bunch of crappy colors and textures. the only good one is the nice soft matte black (p?)leather.

The only thing I dont like about the brain age case is how hard it is to get the stylus out of it. Other than that, its the only DS case ive ever liked.

karsh -- I don't even find it sleek, though. When there are carts inside, it doesn't really lie flat, and the snap doesn't, either (even without carts in the pockets). It's attractive, but just seems poorly designed to me.

I have a black nylon case I picked up in a bargain bin. I like that its just all black with the DS logo on the front, clamshell design with a zipper and a zippered pocket on the back that you can slide a few games in. What I don't like at all is on the inside there is this flexible plastic that holds it in with holes for the buttons, D-pad and screen. It never fit in there quite right or tight enough for my liking. I used to play it in the case, but now I just don't anymore. I think I might just cut out the plastic all together.

I have a black leather (?) case for my phat ds. However, I just found that it was unnecessary. It didn't do anything but take up more space. I soon ditched it and went back to carrying my nude DS.

I recommend the Zelda case for $15 from Target. That's what I have for my Pokémon Dialga and Palkia DS Lite, it works great :D

I don't know if it has more to do with the case or your skillz, but that picture makes the case look really great.

It's definitely not the cheapest, but if you want a top quality case for your DS, go for the one by Waterfield:

It's insanely great. Think of it as a Timbuk2 bag for your DS.

The case that came with the Brain Age 2 bundle is decent. But there's a ton of little DS Lite logos on the inside of it that make a scratchy sound when I pull my DS Lite out of it on the bottom of the system, and sometimes I fear they'll scratch my Lite. And it annoys me that I can't fit my Lite with the game card slot inside, mainly due to the fact I jacked my Phat's wrist strap. I'll get a better case when I get more monies, I guess. Or have my mom make me one.

I commandeered my friend's leather Yashica camera case when he upgraded his camera. It actually fits both the PSP and the DS and has a nice soft inside so it doesn't scratch anything. It's a bit too loose with the DS inside and somewhat tight with the PSP inside, but it works great, better than the official ones I bought.

Owning a PSP and having to deal with its fragile and heavy chassis makes me very unconcerned about my durable DS lite. I cant see the point in having a DS Lite case, its like a brick, it seems very stable and robust able to tackle any environment.

After purchasing my Brain Age 2 Bundle, I was very impressed with the included case... well, until I actually put my new lite and games in it. I was wondering: "Did he person who designed this even know was a ds lite was?" The game pockets need major breaking in, the inside material is kind of rough to the touch, and then there's the whole strap/ snap problem.
