I'm going through the Phoenix Wright games (currently playing Apollo), and when I play these games (usually in bed), I play for a few hours, then go to sleep.

Yeah, I've been playing Izuna lately so I'll play anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or so. The most I've played was around 6 hours straight through, with Zero Mission, Dawn of Sorrow, Etrian Odyssey and a few others. Shiren & Rondo of Swords will probably join those marathon ranks as well.

I used to play my DS all the time, but then the good games ran out. It's too bad. It held my interest for a while.

It depends on the game. I've played certain games for 7-8 hours the first day I got them *coughPokemoncough* but usually go for about an hour at the most.
Also, LOLbits for the win.

I tend to only play for short bursts when I need to kill time, however having picked up Professor Layton, I'll end up playing for much longer than I mean to just saying to myself, "okay, one more puzzle and I'll stop."
Whenever I get into an engaging game that has a story I'll play for a while, never more than an hour and a half, but usually I'm using my Supercard to emulate NES and either playing Ninja Gaiden or Megaman II

TOTALLY depends on the game I'm playing. I actually JUST GOT my first DS, and I bought it with Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Elite Beat Agents. While I have to devote hours to sitting down with Link, I keep Elite Beat handy so I can get a song in while I'm waiting for my wife to get ready and stuff.

Depends on where am I playing; during a boring lecture I play as long as the lecture goes (pokémon, advance wars, civilization snes), while waiting in a queue or in bus to campus I play as long as the ride (brain age(s), mp3 with moonshell), at a long trip (twice per month) I play for 1,5~2 hours (phoenix wright(s)), and finally when home I check the new games, play until they are finished if I like them or throw them away if I don't.

Depends on the game for me too...mostly.
Most games I do just play for just 10 minutes or so, waiting in line, waiting for a professor to get to class, after lunch whatever -- just to get a quick bit of gaming in.
But a game like Hotel Dusk consumes my time and I can sit and play that for hours and hours. Pokemon and Zelda did that to me too. But games like Professor Layton and the Ace Attorney series I can easily just play for a few minutes and move along. They're kind of designed with that in mind I thought...

I tend to prefer to sit and play... if I try to just sit and play for a few minutes the experience is rarely enthralling. Much prefer extended play times of a half an hour or more. Particularly with Puzzle Quest, which I can play for days on end.

I generally play in short bursts--before bed, in between classes, while eating lunch--if only because if I play for longer than two hours or so my hands get cramped and my neck or head starts to ache. Otherwise I could easily sink some serious time into Phoenix Wright or Pokemon.
