DS Fanswag: And the Nuritech accessories go to ...
Sadly, our Nuritech giveaway has come to an end. The bounty of A-class products they have bestowed upon DS Fanboy has gone to three lucky readers. Without further delay, our winners are:
- Grand Prize (red DS tuner case): keitarourashima, who is torn between the "Masho Maro skin and the leather skin."
- Grand Prize (black DS tuner case): Igmolicious, who thinks Nuritech's red leather skin "looks schmexy."
- Runner-up: RachelKat, who says "mmm, red and pink chrome."
Reminder: Last day for Nuritech goodies
That's right, folks. Today is the last and final day you may enter for a chance to win these sweet accessories from Nuritech. So if you haven't entered today, head on over to the original contest post and leave a comment. If you have entered today, then sit back and relax. We'll be naming the winner tomorrow.
Again, thanks to Nuritech for hooking us up with the goods for this giveaway and best of luck to all who entered!
Want to write for us? The deadline approaches!
If you saw our recent post requesting applications for new bloggers and you're planning to throw your name in the hat, get to it! We will cease taking applications Friday, March 14th at 11:59 P.M. Eastern time. Rather than rehashing everything we said before, we thought we'd take this time to offer up answers to the three most frequently asked questions:1. Can I write for only DS Fanboy or Wii Fanboy instead of writing for both?
Sorry, half-fanboys -- we need someone who can write for both sites!
2. Do you assign stories and material to your bloggers?
For the most part, no. In order to succeed, you'll need to be pretty attuned to the news of the gaming world. There's no time to wait for someone to discover the news for you. However, this also means you get a chance to write about the things that interest you.
3. Do I need to own a DS or a Wii in order to write for DS and Wii Fanboy?
It's probably a good idea! After all, how can you be a fanboy if you don't own the hardware?
For any other questions you may have, be sure to hit up the original post. It includes instructions on how to apply (and not following them is a bad idea), as well as answers to other questions you may have.
Fanswag reminder: Nuritech goodies up for grabs
Perhaps you missed this last week, but accessory provider Nuritech (the U.S. arm of Japanese company Joytron) hooked us up with a plethora of goodies for your DS. The only problem we had with that was we were unable to keep any of these sweet accessories. Instead, we have to give them to you! Our job, it is not always great.
So head on over to the original post and get to entering. Remember: you can enter only once per day and must be 18 years of age or older, as well as a current U.S. resident. Hit up the original post for all of the other things you may need to know about our latest giveaway and check out the gallery below for a close-up look at what's on offer.
Attention all scribes: We're looking for bloggers [update]
[Update: As of Friday, March 14, we are no longer accepting applications. Hit us next time!]It's that time again, folks -- the DS and Wii Fanboy blogs are looking for new bloggers. If you can handle being beaten regularly, scrabbling for news, and oh, maybe being paid to write about video games, you just might be the kind of person we're looking for. We're specifically looking for someone who can commit to writing between 50 and 60 posts per month, spread between DS and Wii Fanboy. Not sure how much work that is? Take a peek at the average post on the blogs ... then multiply by 50. It's just that easy. For specific instructions on how to apply, check after the break -- and make sure you read everything. You will be tested.

DSF gets a new gallery system, overall +1 to style

- As you can see above, you may now comment on individual photos in the gallery
- You may now view photos in two distinct flavors: low-res and hi-res, allowing those of you with teh 56K to cruise around in our galleries and not worry about your computer blowing up
- We can now add captions on each individual photo in the gallery, allowing us to explain (when needed) what you're looking at and why it's interesting (to us, anyway)
- The color design of the gallery has also changed to an all-black affair, so hopefully that's better on your eyes than the all-white approach our galleries took before
