You see, we run this thing called Game Night every Thursday, where we get together to play games, but the problem has been those darn Wii Fanboy readers. See, they're coming in and playing their Wii games and, believe it or not, they're totally talking smack on the DS. I know, right?
So, what we need you to do is show up here at the site tonight, at 7:01pm ET, then hit the link to the Game Night chat. Once in, we want you to not engage them or start typing in all caps in the chat. No, we just want you to have fun playing DS! That would really show them who's boss. True, last week we weren't able to get our game on because Nintendo's servers were down, but we anticipate tonight will be different. We've got the DS charged, put fresh batteries in the Wiimote and have been doing stretching exercises all day. We're pumped to get our game on tonight!

Yes, there's a video above. Why? Well, we wanted to show off some of last week's Game Night to you all.
We understand that we can't show you the DS gaming that was going down (direct-feed capture for that costs, uh, several thousand dollars and we can barely afford to eat off the McDonald's dollar menu), but know that plenty of folk were enjoying themselves some playtime. In fact, our own Chris is usually trying to play Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, so if you're big into that, he's your guy. Aside from that, plenty of other Wi-Fi-compatible titles are available, such as Tetris DS, Mario Kart DS and plenty more.
So, all you need to do is come back to the site at 7pm ET. The Game Night post will then be at the top of the front page with the link to the chat where we all get together and have our fun. If it isn't ready exactly at 7pm, keep refreshing. Sometimes the server can be slow to update.

This very post will also include a link to a chatroom where we all get together and converse. Of course, we also play games! All of the best on the DS and Wii are in rotation, so show up and be ready to play!
Disney has released some screens of their DGamer service, a social network integrated with the company's upcoming DS games that allows avatar creation and chat. There's a lot to like about the service, in general: it provides a platform-wide (or, at least, common to Disney's games) interface for connecting with online friends, and avatars and accounts are usable on both PC and DS. Chat is moderated by Disney employees on the lookout for potential security problems. It also includes "Honors" for each supported game, which are similar to Xbox Live's Achievements. You'll be able to see how much time someone has put into Prince Caspian, and then ask them why they're playing so much Prince Caspian! That's the first game to support DGamer, but Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals will as well.
The downside is that you have to represent yourself as something like the avatar pictured. Do you want to connect with your friends if that's how you'll be doing it? Maybe it's a security feature -- kids won't want to talk to strangers looking like that. Oh, and also it's got its own version of friend codes.

Oh wonderful, wonderful Thursday, how we love you so. Not just because you signal that Friday and the weekend are almost upon us, but because you afford us a break from writing about games so that we may play them. Pretty darn awesome stuff, if you ask us.

There's a reason why you have been feeling so good today and why everything has tasted better. Your meals today have been extra good and all of the traffic lights have been green. It's because today is special. It's because today is the day we all participate in Game Night.
So make sure you do everything you can to prepare for tonight's festivities. Take the dog out for a walk early, make sure you skip your lunch break at work so you can clock out before the rest of your coworkers and make sure your DS is charged and your Wiimote has fresh AA batteries in it. Tonight's Game Night session is most likely going to be taken over by the Wii game Smash Bros. Brawl. But, that doesn't mean some folk just aren't down with smashin' or haven't been able to pick it up yet. Even some of our staff don't have it yet and are looking to kick back and enjoy some multiplayer action on their DS.
