Definitely Navi. Sometimes after a long day, I come home and turn on a loop of "Hey! Listen!" and let it lull me to sleep.

Well, for me, it's got to be Mario. He's the king of video games.

Gotta be Luigi. For without him there would be no "Bros". Also, Green is great!

Fox, because he's not a mute. I dislike silent protagonists.

I've never liked any of 'em myself. When did we start seeing them--around 1980? I was 25 years old that year, and this newfangled Nintendo stuff was clearly just for kids. A complete turn-off to me.
Now, starting just last year, I've discovered that Nintendo puts out some great games. So I've started playing them in spite of the cutesy characters.
Can't get my wife to go along, though. Bought her a DS just for "Brain Age," and she loves that. But while browsing through DS games one day, she said, "They're all for kids, aren't they? Too bad."

Making something that *can* be played by kids doesn't mean that it's made *only* for kids.

Tell your wife to play an M-rated game. I bet Manhunt 2 would be a good one. She won't say they're all for kids after that. Then again, she might be extremely frightened of playing a video game ever again...

I don't really like any of them but if I had to choose, then Samus.

Kirby. He's the one with the best great/crap ratio, and is awesome in Super Smash.

Ness for sure - I have EarthBound tattooed across my stomach! This game is the reason why I entered video game design.

Fox McCloud, because the star fox games are really fun. I wish they'd make one for the Wii already.

i think Toon Link is the best! not only was he a one of a kind, but he was the first to show that Zelda doesn't always have to look realistic to be an awesome game!!
