Mario Bros. and Big Brain Academy delayed

IGN reports that New Super Mario Bros. has been delayed until 15 May, about a week after its original street date. Though we're not pleased in the slightest, we now realize that Nintendo is undoubtedly averting a PR disaster by preventing journalists from playing the game during their E3 press conference. Even Reggie's confidence might be rattled should one of his rousing speeches be greeted by a series of beeps and boops emanating from a group of people furiously hunched over their Nintendo portables.

More bad news for those hoping to extend their cognitive abilities, as Big Brain Academy has also been delayed until 5 June. No reasons were given for this delay either, but at least Brain Age should be available by then to keep our minds from completely degenerating into useless pulp.

1. They can take their time. My plate's/slot's quite full with Phoenix Wright, Metroid, and Tetris now. I'm going to be busy for a while.
Please go ahead and perfect them.

2. OK, I can handle this. I mean, this is a big release. A tentpole if you will. But with Metroid, Worms, and Tetris just out, its hard not to think Ill be fine for a couple months.

3. Aw, man. Now it's April and a half. Grrrr...

So, question, Hunters, Tetris, or Phoenix? Which one deserves my money the most?

I'd be willing to consider Worms if it is especially awesome. I'm a little bummed by no WiFi though.

4. Is it just me or is the videogame market really being plagued by delayed release dates inadaquate supply? Of course we can cite the PS3 and Xbox 360, but it seems like Nintendo is seriously suffering in these regards more so than the two aforementioned. I could be wrong, but lets just look at a few examples:

1)Perfect Dark
2)Metroid Prime Hunters (we should count this more than once
3)TWILIGHT PRINCESS! (definitely more than once)
4) Game Cube
5) Navy and Light Blue DS Lites

and now

6) Mario Bros DS
7) Big Brain Academy

I am sure there are plenty more, go ahead and add if you got some. Despite recently converting to the Nintendo side, in large part because of the DS ( I am grateful everyday that I didnt buy a psp), it really does bother me that this stuff keeps getting pulled... far too often. I mean do they have a delay quota or something? At all times must they have 2-3 projects being delayed?

Its like Metroid finally comes out and then they hit us with this crap... come on Nintendo, you are better than this.

Ten Bucks says the Revolution is delayed til after Thanksgiving... any takers?

5. Lazy, Ill take that bet.

Sense, the lack of worms wifi turned me off too. But I hear they are already working on a second Worms DS that WILL have it, so we will get what we want eventually.

Overall, I feel like this particular age in gaming history is all about the word "patience". People being patient for the next thing. Which is evident by the dive in sales while everyone waits for the next gen consoles.

6. Things are delayed left and right by all companies. I think it just seems like it happens to Nintendo more because so many people are dying to play their games. I don't mean that more people want Nintendo games, just that Nintendo fans are particularly rabid for Nintendo content. Zelda comes to mind especially. So many people want these games so bad that every single delay is catalogued by the major sites.

Meanwhile, lots of games for other companies are delayed (Gears of War, Oblivion, GRAW, etc.) But fewer people notice, because these games aren't quite so close to most gamers' hearts.

Still, I want my New Super Mario Bros. and I want to play them on my new American DS Lite. Make it happen Nintendo!

7. People, people, calm down. Think about it,the Big N might be delaying these games for a bundle of the DSlite.
