Online everything-ever retailing giant, Amazon, has posted what appears to be the final boxart of Mario and Luigi's latest and not remotely old adventure, New Super Mario Bros. Depicting hapless Goombas thrown aside by the massive boots of Nintendo's portly plumber, along with a moderately-sized Luigi fleeing for his considerably less popular life, it's quite the enticing piece of art. Also note that the game doesn't have an ESRB rating yet. Judging by the cover's glorification of anti-mushroom violence, we're expecting a hard "M" for "Mature." Keep your children away from this death stomping simulator starting this May.
[Thanks Bbasya!]

The DS is getting harder and harder to resist. The new MegaMan game, plus this is making it irresistable. Stupid DS Lite, hurry up and come to the U.S. so I can freaking buy you already.

I'm glad I got my DS before the DS Lite was announced, because I don't know if I could handle waiting with all these amazing games coming out!
Mario Kart, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Animal Crossing, New Super Mario... there's a few more I can't think of right now.. such AWESOME games.

All the great times I've spent with all sorts of mushrooms, I'd have to say Mario's are my second favorite. I don't think it'd be appropriate for me to discuss my very favorite mushrooms here.
If you really want the games Loban, get the regular ds. It's gone down in price (so it's only a bit more expensive than a micro), it's available, and from what I've seen, the lite really isn't really much smaller. Besides, Reggie has pretty much said that as soon as the lite is released, they're going to already be promoting the next ds after the lite.

It has been rated as "E" for "Everyone" by ESRB as this IGN-DS page shows:

I'm definitely getting this one. I just couldn't bring myself to get the Princess Peach platfomer...
I bought my DS right after the announcement of the Lite. I was going to wait, but I figure I can give the original to my wife or one of my nephews ( My kid's only 14 months old, so he's a little young for the DS)when the Lite finally hits our shores. I hope I don't have to start over in ACWW, Mario Kart or True Swing golf when I move the games to a new DS Lite...

Is the game data stored on the DS or on the cartridge? If it's stored on the cartridge, you won't lose your data. I'm assuming it's stored on the cart.

loban, go order a ds lite online. you'll probably have it in 3 weeks to a month - maybe even less. ninty's releasing the coloured versions on the 11th, and re-shipping the white around the 16th. if you want one that badly, there's no reason to wait for a north american launch.

Matt, the only things you'll have to worry about are new Nintendo WFC IDs and Friend Codes. Otherwise, your records and town and such are kept in your game Card. =P
And I love the boxart. So retro. Even the flashy little "NEW!" icon is retro-ie.

Well, there is one reason for loban to wait. The price of the DS Lite is currently being inflated due to demand. Expect to pay upwards of $200 US if you want a DS Lite right now. That's a little pricey considering you can get a DS Phat and a game for just over $100.

So they're really keeping the name? That seems like a real bad decision. I mean, 5 years from now are we still going to have to refer to this as "New Super Mario Bros."?

For those wondering about changing DSs, don't worry. Just boot up one of the WiFi games, and go to the options menu. There is a selection for transferring the NWFC information. Send the info to the other DS using the DS Download play, then follow onscreen instructions. Although the MAC address will be different, you will still have the unique NWFC ID that your information and Friends List is tied to on the Game Cards. The information is lost on the original DS. Also, make sure there is no game in the new DS you are transferring to. So, in short, as long as you follow the procedure, you won't lose anything.

Game data is stored on the cart, of course. It's almost always been that way for cart based games. You don't have to worry about running out of Memory on your DS that way.

There is a 100% chance I'll be getting this game. I'm also thinking about getting a DS Lite to replace my current overweight DS.

I'm all over this when it comes out. Box art reminds me of Super Smash Bros. Between this, the DS Lite, and the games coming out in the next few weeks, it's a great time for the DS.

#8 i understand your not wanting to buy the princess peach game, i couldn't bring myself to say the name of the game myself. I was just like i want that game. hehe. but in all seriousness it's a turderly rawsome game. Me and my girl fight over the ds all the time now. and she pretty much hates video games. anyway back to the subject I just hope i beat princess peach before this comes out because I'd hate to leave a game unbeaten like i did with partners in time. i got animal crossing right when i was on the last boss in partners in time, and I haven't been able to put the game back in for 2o minutes that it would take to beat it. anyway i'm soo waiting for this game if it's half as good as princess peach it's going to be amazing.

I'll just wait for a North American release. I have to wait until my b-day anyway so my wife can buy me a DS lite. Plus I don't wanna pay $200 for one.
Just out of curiosity; does anyone know what the difference is between the Japanese version and the American version DS lite? Is there a difference or are they EXACTLY identical.
