Looks like the upcoming Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is taking a cue from Final Fantasy III on the DS as far as looks are concerned. We doubt it will be as hardcore old school, but you can't have everything. And is it just us, or is that a really long name?
We've got some scans after that jump that show off the game's look -- check 'em out.

Does this one require each player to have their own Gamecube?

Please do not! The DS games are nice throwbacks to the SNES, super deformed big head RPG glory days.

@ #3:
These new Crystal Chronicles games are supposed to be released on the DS and Wii. This one must be the DS version, as seen in the top left-hand corner of the second scanned image.
Hopefully, SquEnix will make these games online somehow, other than just sending people messages. I liked the GC game, but I do think it would have been better with some sort of online function, like battling against other players or so. Same goes for the Wii game.

No, no, no
Crystal Chronicles was made for Co-op, not battle
That game was the single GC game i ever bought and didn't like, merely because i had no one to play it with :(
Now if this game had 2-3 or 4 player Online co-op (as long as it was with lobbies, random matchmaking co-op wouldn't work, and while i could get Wii Friends through various Online forums, its easier to not do the work)anyway, if that were, then i would get these games in a heartbeat
But Squenix made a pretty good MMO, so if they put it online, it would be viable (i hope i hope i hope

I thought it was known since this was first announced that the DS version would be 4 player WiFi co-op. That's really the main reason I want it. And now DQ9 will have 4 player co-op too. Yay for DS!

Okay, so Kevin wants the shitty graphics from a shitty Final Fantasy game in these new Final Fantasy games. Okay yeah, that makes so much sense.
