Think about the last time you used that thumb piece on the strap included with your original DS Phat. It was to play Mario 64, wasn't it? Yeah, same for us as well, but with this new approach to using the thumb as a stylus, we just might revert back to our old way of thinking.Affectionately dubbed the Thylus, it comes complete with its own attachable docking station. The pictures available via the product's site make it look like a fairly comfortable instrument, however the price is a little too steep for us. How about you guys?

I use the thumb slider all the time in Metroid Prime, the stylus makes my hand cramp. This looks like it would work even better.

I have the Mad Catz thumb pad. It's perfect for any game that uses the touch pad for motion.

I modified the ds phat thumb stylus by cutting of the tip of a regular stylus and super gluing it to the center of the thumb stylus it works very well

You have to reach too far around the screen from where you hold the DS in your hand, so it's always stretching the hand/thumb too much. On top of that, the lack of anything tactile just ruins it all, especially in Super Mario 64 DS. I stopped playing that so quickly...Like, maybe an hour or two into it, perhaps. The original was infinitely better.

Where can I get a thumb stylus besides Nintendo's online store? Is the madcatz one available by itself or in a bundle? Is it crappy? I really want one for MP:H and I have a DS Lite.

I got the mad catz thumb stylus at circuit city for five bucks, specifically for MPH. It was five bucks but it came with 3 backup styluses, screen covers and a screen polish cloth. Not too shabby.

The thumb pad I found unforgivably awkward---my thumb just doesn't have the mobility for touch-screen precision.
But for Metroid, I'm a big fan of the Comfort Stylus. It's a piece of bendable wire, encased in foam with a soft tip. I wrap it around my index finger, and then I can play as though pointing at the screen. It feels really natural after a little while, and is much easier than holding the stylus like a pen. My wife likes using it for Magnetica, as she finds it gives her much less hand-cramping trouble. Plus it's only $6!
And no, I don't work for the company that makes 'em---just a fan.

I use the thumb strap when playing splinter cell on the ds, personally speaking I think a more accurate alternative be a benefit.
