Since Taiko Drum Master was announced this week for the DS, and we also happen to be a little fond of rhythm games, we thought we'd bring you another pair of videos dedicated to getting your drum on. The first makes us yearn for arcades, because there's nothing like huge drums or motorcycles and steering wheels to really get you in the game. We also want that guy's skill, because he really knows how to rock out. The video was originally posted to Chris Kohler's Game|Life blog, so you've probably seen it before, but we felt it was a good finisher for the week. The second shows off a Taiko Drum Master mini-game featured in Nodame Cantabile, which was recently released in Japan.

man, i want this so badly. i wish we had a machine in a local arcade somewhere. i definitely hope it makes it over to north america, without losing all the japanese tunes, too.

Doesn't look like nearly as much fun with just one drum, plus I can foresee half the people that buy this game busting their bottom screens during the hard songs.

That arcade game doesn't seem like much fun too me it looks like chaos and i cant really hear anything interesting...
Now for the DS game no way would i play with such a thing (that little yellow stick thingy)... i dont know if its such a good idea to hammer away at your DS screen... I think i would play it with my finger..

I like the arcade game. drumming in real life hitting the drum on the edges too must be a lot more fun than hammering the ds screen. the video of the arcade looks especially chaotic because the guy have enough arcade skillz for a small country..
a downside with the arcade (in tokyo at least) is that the room is filled with noisy games so you can hardly hear the song you're trying to drum too.. but its good.. real good..
