Peep these Bomberman Story screens

QJ has the skinny on fresh screens for the upcoming Bomberman Story DS. And, from the looks of these screens, the game is going to be a treat for those looking for a bit of a mixed bag; new gameplay elements that look to have some RPG influences, as well as the old grid-style play. Considering this is the first we've heard of the game, color us excited.

If you're looking for more info on the game, try the Japanese website here and Wikipedia's page for the game here.

Except for one thing: Almost every Bomberman game for both GBA and DS has had RPG elements, and as a result their single player modes have all sucked. It'll only be worthwhile if they stick to the classic formula for multiplayer and add some awesome new levels and items; it would be wise to ignore the single player mode entirely.

I loved the GBA Bomberman Story (known as Bomberman Tournament here in America), so I'm looking forward to this.

No single-player Bomberman will ever live up to Bomberman 64.
