The DS is a very versatile piece of machinery. Its many capabilities are only overshadowed by the ever-increasing library of great games for it. Now, the thing can be used as a phone?Yes, utilizing some of samuelv's hard work, you too can conduct phone conversations with just your DS and a wi-fi connection. Oh, and according to some, a knowledge of homebrew on the DS is also needed, as some have complained the software can be a bit of a pain.
Oh, and you'll also need a SIP account.

It's not what you think... you can't just use any wifi connection. You need to have stuff running on YOUR computer to get it to work and use the same wifi connection that your computer is connected to. So pretty much the days of the Cell Phone still have not arrived... just free calling in your country via a DS.

Chriv, you are wrong actually. You do not have to run a program via the PC, the text in the configuration file requiring a login ID and IP of a computer is just temporary as it is but does not require in my case "VoIPBuster" to be ran. I have tested it several times.

um, you're wrong again. you configure your connection to whatever wifi source there is (via any game). you don't need a pc, except to set up a sip account. man did you even use this program before? flame on

hehehe... of course I use it. I have the M3 and everything. My point is, good luck configuring on the go. It's not made for hot spots.

Actually, if you looked inside the configuration file there is a section requiring a local IP and user account name. I haven't quite figured out what this is for but it certainly is needed as the homebrew will not work without it.
