Invariably, we want more games than we can actually buy. We have to make some tough decisions at times, and occasionally, games get left behind. What's your strategy for getting your hands on as many games as possible? Do you do trade-ins or sell used games somewhere, like on Amazon? Do you rely on holiday gift requests to get the games you want the most? Do you rent? Or do you maybe work something out with friends so that you each buy different games (when you can, outside of multiplayer needs) and trade off? The worst option, of course, is going without. Even though we've certainly had moments of that, we still shudder at the very thought of making such agonizing decisions. When you do choose to let a wanted title pass you by, do you try to pick it up later, or just let it go?

I buy games whenever I can, which isn't very often. Buying used DS games hardly matters, but GBA and GC are much cheaper used and I buy them.

Always a tough issue... Lately I make a big list of every game I am interested in and try to get to them sooner or later. The big ones sooner and the ones I am not as excited about later on. I hate being ripped off by trade-in places, and while that or amazon (etc) is a great option for limited the money you invest, it's way better to trade amongst your friends

Christmas has always been kinda of crapshoot when it comes to buying games. It's the one of few times that I buy video games. This year instead of investing into a new console(Xbox 360), I'm to think cheaply and invest more into my own (PS2 and DS). Phantom Hourglass is tops on my list followed by some PS2 titles that slipped thru my fingers. Now that FFXII is 20 bucks, I'll jump on that soon. Maybe also Bully and Deadlocked. Also, manga and harry potter books.

Flashcart.
I would have never bought 4/5 of the games on my flashcart, the rest I bought because I wanted the real copy.
Easy. =D
Try before you buy.

I just limit myself to one, at the max two, games per month. My tastes are not as broad as most other gamers, so I'm never pressed by the issue of multiple releases in a short time frame. (The fact that I only have a Wii, PS2, and DS helps considerably, otherwise I'd probably be out a lot for Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Jeanne D'Arc, and a few others.)

I download the roms to try them out entirely, and buy the ones I really like. I own somewhere around 18 games now, most of which are either used, or still factory sealed.
I have a monthly budget for games, and I decide what to buy based on what I've been playing the hell out of lately and really enjoy. Then, I check Amazon, Ebay, Craigslist, Gamestop, trying to find the best price. Depending on how much the games are, I'll buy 1-3 games/month. It works for me.
My most recent purchase was worms open warfare 2. My latest dodged-bullet was DK jungle climber.
