Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is a big deal on the Wii, especially with the Leipzig crowd. Super Smash Bros. may have stolen some of its thunder recently, but the very idea of Sonic and Mario in a game together still holds a lot of power to many fans. Plus, if you don't own a Wii, Olympics on the DS is your only shot at Nintendo and Sega mascot characters competing at stuff.
Are you planning on going for the portable gold? Do you think this game has the potential to be any good? Are you eschewing the handheld release for the Wii version, or are you dedicated enough to making Knuckles and Yoshi compete in a judo match to get both?

I'll probably download the DS one, and if the Wii version stands up to reviews and isn't just a Mario sports game with Sonic & co. thrown in then I might get that, but not if its anywhere near the release of SSBB or any other game I want.

I've long been fascinated with Track & Field style games, but I think I'm going to pass on the DS version. I've already snapped a stylus trying to do the spinners in Elite Beat Agents; I can only imagine what my enthusiasm would do in a game that's primarily about scratching the stick back and forth as fast as you can.
I'm intrigued by the Wii version, mostly because I bought the system for games like Wii Sports -- and by that, I mean very active games that you play standing up. Still, I'd rather buy it used; my video game budget just isn't what it used to be. I'm willing to buy niche titles at full price just because they disappear so rapidly, but I don't feel like I'll have any trouble finding a copy of Mario & Sonic Olympics several months down the road.
