We've been on this whole "best" kick lately with our morning questions, and we've got another one for you today: what are your favorite multiplayer DS games? But we're going to offer some restrictions on this, however. You know we don't like simple answers. Let's forget a lot of the games that are more popular, particularly at our weekly Game Night, and instead tout some that people may not know as much about. Instead of talking about Pokémon and Mario Kart, tell us about Worms or something else. Online or not -- no limits there -- so long as the game is (in your opinion) a little less well-known!

I am LOVING Worms 2. Before that the only multiplayer game I played was Clubhouse Games. Because I'm on dial-up, games that benefit from a fast, stable connection (Mario Kart, for example) are off limits.

Worms quickly became my fav wifi game. It's classic Worms gameplay, online, without a lot of the crap that made it irritating on PC (NO ROPERS! :D)...
On the other end of the scale, the net code for phantom hourglass seems really crap. I've heard several reports (and experienced it myself) of disconnects and massive lag.
I'm sure the battle game itself is fun, but it would just be nice to manage a full match.

Many people know and have Worms. We've been asking you to add it to game night since it came out but you keep ignoring us.

I'm gonna say Mario Kart DS. If only because this past summer -- during Otakon 2007 -- a bunch of my friends and I brought our DS's and got a couple of multiplayer races in during the long bus ride from New York to Baltimore and back. All this against complete strangers.
Jump Ultimate Stars is up there.

Top choices:
Mario Kart DS is tops without a doubt. In local multiplayer, it is an absolute blast.
Metroid Prime Hunters is runner up. With strangers, it is amazingly intense, and with friends it is great fun with chatting and actually having full control over the features.
More Obscure choices:
Club House Games: Surprisingly fun and enjoyable. The more people you have, the more fun crazy games of Balance become.
New Super Mario Bros: Believe it or not, I get a lot of use out of those Multiplayer mini-games.
Oh, and Kefka, the lag is *terrible* if you play worldwide on Phantom Hourglass. Stick to your region; I do and it generally runs smoothly for me.

After getting frustrated trying to get a 3- or 4-player game of Worms: OW2 going, I searched around and found that the forum on GameFaqs for the game was pretty active. One of the users there started a small xat chat page here: http://gtamp.com/worms/ . It's gained a bit of a following, and a great way to find users for larger-scale games. Seems to be busier afternoons/evenings PST, though.

Another vote for Worms here as well, it's brilliant.
The other 2 online games of choice for me at the moment are Clubhouse Games and Tetris DS.
