This is a question(s) to the knowledgeable: Japan's digital broadcast is known as 1seg, is that right? So in 2009 all(AMERICAN) tv will have to switch over to digital broadcasting, so would it be the same type as japan? Or would the regional factors occur? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I wouldn't say "never" coming to the US. If you're talking about 1seg, you're probably right... that will probably never come to the US. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1seg)
However, I've got friends who have TV tuners on their cell phones... why not the DS?
Particularly if companies discover that they can make some money by (over) charging monthly to beam digital TV signals to Nintendo DSes across the US...
