... or, more specifically, taking it with you to family gatherings over the holidays. As in, will you be carrying your DS around? For holiday travel, it's a real boon; the DS can help with the monotony of long plane trips or drives (so long as you're not actually driving), or help deal with jet lag or insomnia from changing time zones. It can also be fun to share the joy and wonder of the world's best handheld with the uneducated masses. Did you do that last winter? If so, you may not be the only one sporting a DS at this year's holiday gatherings. Hey, maybe you'll be able to get some download play in!

I'll absolutely be carrying my DS and isolating headphones with me this year. It's a great diversion when I'm at my MIL's house (they're crazy and tuning them out is the best way to deal with them), and I have younger relatives with DS's that I game with as well.

Took it with me for Thanksgiving and it was great fun. I'll definitely be taking it with me for Christmas. My husband already has all the accessories and his Wii with it's extras packed up to go. We now take them both with us whenever we leave for an extended period of time. We both put new games on our lists so this will also give us a chance to play the new goodies. :D

I live in Japan, and my pink DS Lite was pretty much my only salvation during the long, tedious thirteen hour plane rides. It's not too bright, so it doesn't keep the other passengers up, and it's long battery life allows me to play through almost all eight gyms on Pokemon Pearl, Pokemon pretty much being primary entertainment source when I'm forced to travel to the States.

I don't leave the house without my DS. As a matter of fact, when I was trying to combine bags (my knitting bag + purse), I specifically looked for a bag that would have adequate space for DS, chargers, games, and various other DS paraphernalia. Leaving home without it would be like shooting myself in the foot.
And yep, took it with me last Christmas, too. Though no one new has gotten a DS, my brother and my hubbies all have one, so we're ready to rock with download play. Woot.

Gonna be taking mine with me... hahahaha, even though it's probably just gonna be down the street. I can't wait to kick some ass at mario kart once again with the family!
Anyways, I'm sure everyone here takes their DS everywhere they go, right?

Damn right I brought my DS with me. It's a four-hour flight (+ two hour wait) from LA to Cleveland, which was the perfect excuse for me to sit on an unopened copy of Phantom Hourglass until it was time for me to fly home for Xmas (this past Monday was travel day for me). I'm always grateful that handheld gaming exists, as without a DS, I'm sure I would flip out and hurt a few people after hour 2 of being stuck in coach.
I'm now trying to balance how much of Phantom Hourglass I play here so I'll have at least 5 hours of gameplay left for the flight home late next week. That's why I brought my Wii with me too.
It's a Nintendo Christmas! Happy Holidays everybody!

Did you yell into the mic on the plane? 'Cause that would be most awesome.

I'll be building snowmen in Animal Crossing:WW while lounging on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta. My character will be dressed in a sombrero and poncho, of course! Nothing says the holidays like making snowmen on the beaches of Mexico. Ole!

Yes, if I'm flying or somehow not the one driving (not likely) I bring it along. Nothing like a little Mario Kart at 30,000 feet (with realistic engine noises!).

The DS really does help when you're traveling. I brought mine along with a Gamestop converter to Thailand and it really helped pass along the 24 hour flight. I'll be bringing it to the family dinner this year too...to pass the time.
