Fans of spin-off game Pokémon Ranger will be happy to hear a sequel is in the works. A couple of scans made their way over to NeoGAF and, as they say, the rest is history. Not being one to pick up the original title, this blogger doesn't know how to feel about a sequel. So, tell us what you think?
Did you like the first game? What did you enjoy about it? What did you dislike about it?

I thought the original was pretty good. Best pokemon spin-off since Snap. Drawing circles around the little critters seems a bit silly at first, but then it get's so addictive, almost like the normal pokemon games. Although it was a pretty short game and didn't really have much replay value. The graphics could've been better too; I mean the sprites were well animated and all that, it's just they weren't very detailed and were blandly coloured. But it looks a lot better in this sequel. I hope they add some kind of connectivity to D/P like they did with the Manaphy egg.

The original treated the player as if they could hardly read, and you couldn't skip the 5 minute training sequence that taught you how to draw circles. I enjoyed the first, but it was too short to really get into it. You could beat it in just a few hours.
My hopes are that this sequel is longer and harder (maybe with a Hard Mode). It would also be great if you could obtain a legendary Pokemon for Diamond/Pearl.
I'm crossing my fingers that this will be more that just a stall game to appease us while they crank out the inevitable GS remakes.

I loved Pokemon Ranger! It was one of my first DS games and I thought the stylus controls were really cool. Plus when D/P came out, I got a Manaphy through it.
It looks like in this one, you can have Munchlax as a partner! He is pretty much my favorite, so this game looks like a definite purchase for me.

I loved the first one, and I agree that it is the best spin-off since snap. The only part of the game that bugged me was how sluggish the character is. We couldn't run anywhere, and they turned so slowly. I would alway be caught by the pokemon that would chase me, even if I tried to avoid them.
With that being my only complaint, I can't wait to catch the D/P generation Pokemon, and I hope we get a different pokemon partner (I was bored of Plusle and Minun.)

I'll probably rent it for a couple of weeks to get whatever event Pokemon they cram into the game to make gullible Pokemon fans buy it.

I thought Pokemon Ranger was better than the regular Pokemon games. It was a nice touch to create circles to capture them. It gave you a sense of accomplishment. I think Charizard was the hardest to capture.

Awesome! The other day I while I was playing Ranger I thought to myself "They need to make a sequel..." And now they are! Yay, I'm happy.
I loved the first game. The only thing about it was that it finished too quickly. There should be at least twice as much missions. At least. The sprites were really neat- they inspired me to draw some pixels on photoshop myself. The missions were fun, too. Every mission gave a new place to explore.
