With all the DS number love going around, why should we neglect Australia? Especially now that one million DS systems have been sold in the tiny continent.Nintendo Australia announced the news today, propelling Australia into the ranks of DS champions. The one million mark may not seem impressive when stacked up against the sales in Europe and Japan, but considering that Australia's population is much smaller, it's a significant accomplishment.
Interestingly, one-fifth of the country's DS sales in 2007 occurred in the month of December. While that makes sense because of the holidays, it's still amazing that over 133,000 units sold in one month.
We're not even going to bring up the "it prints money" thing, because it's just too easy -- oh, wait. Damn.
