Horror of horrors -- last night, while vacuuming, someone in the house (read: not your current writer!) stripped the cable of the DS Lite charger. After the tears and accusations, it occurred to us that hinge cracks and falls aren't the only accidents that can befall our beloved handhelds. Anything similar happen to yours? We know lost games can be a problem, and we've heard about lost styli. Tell us about the worst things that have happened to your handhelds. What did you do? We'll be calling Nintendo today and hoping some kind soul will send a new charger over.

As someone else said, try some electrical tape. If it's too bad for that and you don't want to buy another one (which is what I'd do cuz they're dirt cheap anyway) you can cut out the bad section of the wire and splice the two pieces together, I'd suggest you solder them, and tape.
As for cats, and other animals, that love cords....we had a cat who was like that...after he ate through a very expensive pair of ear buds and then an even more expensive test cable down in the hubby's electronics workshop, neither of which could be repaired we found a solution. It takes some time but it WORKED. We got a bottle of tabasco sauce, soaked a rag with it and wiped all our cords and cables with it. This was recommended by our vet. Give it a try..will put your cat, etc. off chewing cords for good! The interesting thing is that even though we lost him almost 3 yrs. ago and none of our other cats like cords I STILL never, ever put my ear buds where they could get at them!
I didn't realize that the styli for the phat are hard to come by but makes sense...glad I've a stash of them!

Well, although my charger wasn't injured. . .I was reaching for my cord yesterday and sliced my finger open on a xacto knife that was sitting dangerously close to my DS charger. Whay was it there, you ask? No, don't ask. It's better that way.
