It is very useful, actually. I still like it. The headphones suck though.

I have a New Super Mario Bros. tin lunchbox. Not from Walmart though and the stuff inside is different/better. In any case these have been available since October/November.

This article's link texts look as if they were written by the RE4 character in that Mega64 parody:
"Got a lot good things on sale, stranger!"
"Whatta ya got?"
"Things!"

They've also got Wii themed ones at Wal-mart. I saw a Twilight Princess one that cane with Wii Remote and Nunchuk covers, coloured to match Twilight Princess's dark palette, and coloured wrist straps and that sort of thing.

Toys R Us gave me the Phantom Hourglass one free when I bought a DS Lite back in November. I have to say that it makes an awesome lunchbox that I now take to work with me. The cartridge protectors are rather neat, too.
The screen protectors, on the other hand, absolutely blow. DO NOT put those things on your DS. They'll just end up massacring the screen if you ever try to take them off.
