We're guessing that YouTuber wannabepunktony got lucky and grabbed himself an early copy of Professor Layton and the Curious Village from Wal-mart, three days before the game's official release.
wannabepunktony is no real punk, however. In fact, he's evidently a jolly conscientious chap, because instead of keeping Level 5's adventure game to himself (which is what we would do), he's generously filmed the first eight minutes of the game and stuck it up on YouTube, where we can all gaze at that quite lovely introduction sequence, while snickering quietly to ourselves at the "British" accents. Sir, you are our hero. At least until, y'know, we get the game ourselves.

That does look pretty good. Now if I just had a DS to play it on.... (I'm hoping that the video was taken to show what happens when you make a wrong choice and was not indicative of the puzzle-solving skills of the person taking the video. :-) )
Now if this would come out for the Wii in some form (and perhaps at a reasonably price-point), I'd be content.

I will not be playing this game. Fake English accents make me want to kill bunnies. Well done developer, you just p*ssed all over a potentially good game. Idiots.
Seriously, why haven't people learned? It's not that hard to fly some actual English voice talent over.

Well, Layton's accent isn't *that* awful. It's not accurate, but it's not gratingly bad. It's more "fancy-pants American" than British. :-)
The kid, on the other hand, is awful. "I don't understahnd!" Uh.
Still, as a theater person, I'm used to hearing badly-done dialect. And I usually play DS games with the sound turned off anyway.

Hate to flame, but I can't believe the guy taping this video circled every OTHER village instead of the correct one. I mean, COME ON, there are harder puzzles in the back of kids cereal boxes...
Anyway, I am interested, and I'm part of that 90% of people who steal stuff on an R4. Blame it on Nintendo for not officially distributing games to my country.

This game is great. Voice acting is never great, this is no exception. Still, it's good overall and lots of fun.

That youtuber wasn't the brightest tool in the shed. Don't think PL: CV is right for him, but PERFECT for a SMRT induvidual like moi.
