We have some new
Disgaea: Prince of the Demon World and the Red Moon goodies for you. Nothing as cool as
comparative screenshots, unfortunately, but there's some pretty nice game and character art to check out in our gallery. Yes, these pictures are just artwork and not screens, but they're still enough to get us giddy over
this remake.
We know that quite a few of you SRPG fans are looking forward to
Disgaea, too. We're curious which SRPG you're anticipating more, though -- this, or
Final Fantasy Tactics A2?

I'm waiting for both. This game looks awesome, I hope to play it in the future.
FFTA2 is the one I want the most. I can not wait till june or july... I'm not sure the day it will be released.

I am also waiting for both of these games. I am quite curious about the gameplay for Disgaea, which I have heard was a bit off-putting by its being both deep and weird. OTOH, now playing FFCC, I am fully turned on to the FF universe and the upcoming FFTA2.

I don't know about "weird" gameplay (it's more "different" than anything else), but Disgaea is indeed very, very deep. Personally, I loved this about the game.
As for the original question, I've already played Disgaea on the PS2, so I'm anticipating FFTA2 more. Still plan on getting both, though.

I'm greatly anticipating FFTA, but have zero interest in Disgaea DS because I've already played the PS2 version.

I've been playing Afternoon of Darkness on the PSP and I have to say that this game has really turned me on to strategy games. D:AoD kind of overwhelms me at times 'cause it's so deep with its level of customization. You can unlock so many different classes to join your party and you can recruit monsters and there is a ton of weapons, armor, and accessories to equip. I've spent the last two weeks creating new characters and leveling them to unlock MORE new characters/classes. I haven't even continued the story which I'm barely half-way through (not to mention the psp exclusive unlockable "etna mode")
However, to answer your question, since I already have this game for my psp, I would want the FF game, if I had a DS... :p but DS owners who haven't already played Disgaea on Sony's consoles should definetly pick this up.

If you go far enough you'll find out that nippon ichi didn't bother to make things scale correctly. If I remember correctly everything except for Majins and Lahral end up being totally worthless. (unless of course they went back and reworked the class system from the original game). Of all the nippon ichi games I've played, they've never really managed to get this right, why can't my carrot monster be good!

Disgaea looks great and i know that i'm not going to miss out on it this time. but i'd have to say that i'm anticipating FFTA2 a little more, just because the first one is still my favorite SRPG.

I agree with you! I'm still playing FFTAdvance just for fun. I still need to clear 42 missions.

Putting 300 hours into the first FFTA I want the sequel. However I'm incredibly interested in Disgaea's art style and the promise of thousands of level ups.
