So what is this all about? Well, N4G posted a supposed leak retail sheet showing Grand Theft Auto IV's existence on the DS, with a release date of June 15th. Of course, when it's listed above Guitar Hero 3 for the DS (Guitar Hero: On Tour, we assume), which is in italics all by itself for some reason, then you can understand why we remain apprehensive about it. Odds are, this is just a clerical error.

There was already a GTA game on the Gameboy, so i wouldn't take something like "Mario will never kill hookers" as a blanket statement - besides, what would Mario be doing in a GTA game? ;)

That was just a remark that, when GTA fever was at its height, and when Naughty Dog declared for the 2nd Jak & Daxter game that "nobody wants cutsey characters anymore" that they were never going to betray their values and make Mario "edgy"
However, looking at Mario Strikers and Strikers Charged's boxarts, you could say the went back on that a little

I'd much rather see a port of one of the first two (three if you include London) GTA games.

Don't get me wrong. I love my DS, but there are just some games that don't belong on it. GTA IV is one of them. I'm pumped for this game for my 360, but I'd never buy the DS version, if it even exists.

I'd love to see a original GTA top-down style version for DS. Even an isometric style would be fun.

Sounds interesting...
It is possible to do a 3D world on the DS, as shown by Animal Crossing, and of course those Transformers games. I'm for it. Don't expect it to be THAT featured. It would be cool if there was another 256MB game besides ASH.

If the rumor is true... great. If not, no skin off my back.
I wouldn't buy it even if it did release.

Wow, I've been thinking about this for the longest time! However, I always thought that GTA2 would be the best game to port to the DS [it's my all-time favorite GTA game ... who cares if it's top-down?]. But GTA IV? They better do it right.

I could totally see them releasing GTA or GTA2 on on the DS. And I don't mean GTA3 and Vice City. I don't get why the new game is called GTA4, as that's exactly what GTA3 and Vice City are implied to be by the latest game's name. Why didn't they just call the new one GTA6?
