Famitsu: Disgaea coming to the DS

Well, Disgaea fans will be happy to know that the latest issue of Famitsu has a nice little tidbit of information within the confines of its pages. A new Disgaea title has been confirmed to be in the works for the DS, adding another installment in the franchise that fans are pretty much sure to love. Looks like they finally got around to checking out those poll results.

Rough translation (courtesy of GAFfer Tenbatsu) shows the game to be called Disgaea: Prince of the Demon World and the Red Moon. So based on that, we can predict the game will have some kind of demon world that plays an important role in the events of the game, as well as a prince and some kind of red moon. What can we say? We're gaming journalists. It's what we do.

Aside from that, there isn't any more information to go on. If we hear anything else, though, we'll be sure to let you all know. In the meantime, crack open that bottle of champagne and get to celebrating!

Help decide which handheld gets Disgaea

A couple of readers wrote in to us informing of a poll over at NIS America's site. The poll, which asks if you own a copy of any Disgaea game, also asks if you own a Sony PSP or Nintendo DS. We assume this is a poll to gauge whether or not the title would reach more gamers if it was on the DS or the PSP, but, considering that, the poll in and of itself seems a tad dumb to us.

[Thanks, JBGUY2K and Aaron!]

DSgaea on the way?

In an interview with NIS America, RPGamer extracted some information that should have SRPG lovers choosing "Dance Happily" from their action menus, if they have the AP for it. When asked what the chances were for a Disgaea game on the Nintendo DS, NIS's Nao Zook responded "Let me just say this... you can look forward to it!"

So either NIS is planning a Disgaea game for the DS or Nao Zook is kind of mean. We hope it's the former. We personally aren't the most ardent of strategy game players, but we recognize that the strategy genre is underrepresented on the DS. And the touch screen is great for that sort of game.

NIS America to sell DS Lite kimono cover

NIS America just opened their own online shop, and it's already decently stocked with neat stuff. This kimono-style DS Lite cover isn't exactly one of them right now-- it's available for preorder only-- but as soon as it's available we're considering getting one.

The cover comes in eight colors, all of which add an air of serene beauty to your DS as well as a barrier against unwanted contact. Touching is good, unless it's your keys "touching" your DS in your pocket.
