Rumor: Marketing website reveals new licensed games

After Xbox 360 Fanboy found some unreleased information on marketing firm Intellisponse's website, NeoGAFfers quickly figured out how to access more of their info (because it was a very simple process). As a result, Xbox 360 fans had a sort of impromptu E3 of rumors, videos, and news.

The DS fallout from the release of Activision and Disney survey materials isn't quite as explosive, but it has enabled us to learn a bit about some planned or proposed new games from the companies. Unfortunately, the newly-"announced" DS games consist solely of licenses, from the expected (Transformers 2) to the sadly kind-of expected (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) to ... what? (Gossip Girl). We've posted the full text about each game from the now-defunct site after the break.

Here come Amazon's Gold Box deals [update 2]

Just a reminder to all you friendly folks in the U.S. -- Amazon is having crazy DS deals today.

The retailer kicked off its Gold Box sales awesomely, offering Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for $16.99. If we don't say so ourselves, that is damn sweet. You have until 12am Pacific time to bite on this, but we recommend getting it sooner rather than later because we doubt supplies will last.

As for the lightning deals, we've listed them here (with our guesses for ones that haven't been confirmed yet). Keep in mind, these are in Pacific time, and each deal lasts for four hours (assuming they don't go out of stock):
We suppose that with such an awesome "Deal of the Day," we can forgive Amazon for everything else being subpar. Keep in mind, though, that these are just our guesses. We'll update the post as other sales are confirmed.

[Update 1: Master of Illusion was confirmed as the second lightning deal and was added to the post.]

[Update 2: Transformers: Autobots is the third lightning deal. And, would you look at that -- Master of Illusion sold out. Who would have thought?]

Download play is enjoyable

Gamers like download play. Hardly a shocking statement. But it seems that of all of the DS' amenities, the ability to share your games with nearby friends gets less attention than, maybe, it should.

Aeropause's George Walker discovered this while in line for the Transformers movie (the new one, not the good one), when he broke out his DS to ameliorate his 2+ hour wait and found himself accosted by kids begging for some downloadable games. He suggested some Meteos, they agreed, and an impromptu fun-having event occurred.

What can we learn from this event? First off, that Meteos is pretty great. We can also take away the notion that people like it when you can give them free games-- so much so, that they may even elect to play those free games with you. Try it next time you're in line for hours! Which we hope isn't soon. That sounds tortuous, even with a DS.

DS releases for the week of June 18th

Welcome to an incredible week for Nintendo fans! This week, the DS (and the Wii as well!) will see some highly anticipated titles make their debut, and a late addition to last week's releases is now available as well -- the budget Brain Buster Puzzle Pak shipped after last week's announcements. Not that we need anything extra after looking at this line-up:
  • Brothers in Arms DS
  • Full Metal Alchemist Trading Card Game
  • Sim City DS
  • Time Ace
  • Transformers: Autobots
  • Transformers: Deceptacons
  • Zendoku
While you agonize over your choices this week, let's check out the releases for the rest of the world. It's a big week for Japan -- Phantom Hourglass hits shelves there this week!

Transformers: The screenshots

Two incredible forces. Two sides in the battle for Earth -- and appropriately, two completely different games for two completely different stories. How ... balanced. We love it. As licensed games go, these don't sound (or look) half bad. After the jump, we've got new screens from both Decepticons and Autobots. We won't even make you choose between 'em; you can ogle both if you're so inclined.
