Aeropause's George Walker discovered this while in line for the Transformers movie (the new one, not the good one), when he broke out his DS to ameliorate his 2+ hour wait and found himself accosted by kids begging for some downloadable games. He suggested some Meteos, they agreed, and an impromptu fun-having event occurred.
What can we learn from this event? First off, that Meteos is pretty great. We can also take away the notion that people like it when you can give them free games-- so much so, that they may even elect to play those free games with you. Try it next time you're in line for hours! Which we hope isn't soon. That sounds tortuous, even with a DS.

Last summer I was visiting family in South America. I didn't think that I'd have to take my DS with me because I'd have something to do all the time, but then we went into a restuarant and there was two kids playing on their DS's. Now this was in Bolivia, a pretty out of the way country as far as technology is concerned but I really wish I could have had my DS there and beat them in a game of Mario Kart or NMSB, or mabye they would have beaten me. Either way it would have been fun.

I played 10 player Tetris DS in line waiting to pay for Wii pre-orders. If I recall correctly, it shrank into 8 player Mario Kart DS, then into 6 player Star Fox Command, and then into 4 player Animal Crossing.

Tetris DS is the WIN when it comes to download play - quick to download, everyone knows how to play, multiple game modes and mods...
Oh, and not having the game doesn't cripple you / the options when compared to game owners, like MKDS does.

I'll never forget sending Meteos to 2 friends when I first got my DS. Although I haven't touched the game in a while, that was one heck of an experience. New SMB was great for the extra stuff they had, my wife and I spent a lot of time playing their mini-games, dabbled a bit in tetris but never really went anywhere. Outside of that, basically if I don't really know the people, I don't play though - Not that I don't want to, but having someone who is almost 30 try to say "Hey kid, you want your asscots handed to you in a game of Tetris?" might not be taken to so kindly, especially if they win - then I have to throw them off the bus, how is THAT good sportsmanship? It's just not. TSk me.
