We're taking a little break from our regular format this week in order to do something very simple:
make you jealous as hell. Reader John has some good stuff -- hardware, gear, extras -- but not so much that it's
really notable. We do like the plush Kirby, though. No, what brings us here today, agape and agog, is his collection of DS games, which stood at 209 titles when he sent in these pictures, with more on the way.
So today, John, we salute you, O Buyer of Games. And, uh, got anything we could borrow?
Show and Tell is all about fan stuff, so long as it's Nintendo-related. We love to see your collections, your crafts, your frosted creations, your t-shirts and swag of all sorts.Just snap a few pictures, tell us what's up, and send it all to showmeit [at] dsfanboy [dot] com. We'll take care of the rest. Not a handy type, but found something neat? Send us a link instead.

Wow! Nice collection.
Just curious, John, what are some of your favorite DS games that may have flown under other players' radar?

I could do better than I'm doing, but I don't want to start buying things just as filler.

haha! my collection made it! thanks alisha. :)
in reply to Joel: i wish i knew. before collecting became a serious undertaking, i'd say the games that stick severely in my memory are rocket slime, contact, and point blank ds. i've since left many of my games unopened.
sergio: you have a beautiful collection as well. we share the same interest.
elsng: i bought it in japan.
zealot: that's the hardest part. trying to convince yourself to spend money on fillers that aren't the shovelware worth occupying space on your shelf is definitely a struggle.

Rocket Slime really is a fantastic game. And probably the single most insane final boss battle ever. Not hard, really, just insane.
It's sort of frustrating, actually, that all of my favourite games have been stuff that I completely missed, then bought for 5$ used off of some kid on CraigsList.

Are there really 209 quality DS games out there? I just can't imagine the total cost of a collection of that...
But, as always, seeing a collection as large as that lined up as you have it is just plain beautiful, a sight to behold. DS cases are so awesome.

*WHY?* On Metacritic, the *top* 209 games brings you down into the 67s!
This is such a waste of money!

an opinion is an opinion, and though metacritic has a fairly reliable, scoring has little to do with what's valuable to the owner. just a small example would be: metacritic has Monopoly / Boggle / Yahtzee / Battleship rated at a paltry 57, but i'm sure you know that a factory sealed copy of this is worth far more than the score represents. the same goes for games like electroplankton etc..
but for me, collecting is an enjoyable past time. it brings about a certain degree of pleasure being able to locate sealed copies of games that are getting harder and harder to find. my list is devoid of the the "My ___ Coach", "____z", "Imagine", and all those other fillers.
To you it may be a waste of money, which is completely understandable. To me, I hope they retain value, or at least maybe my kids in the future can enjoy games that I'm hoping will become classics over time.

You said it right! I collect all the games that I have played throughout the years and have thoroughly enjoyed, and keep them in mint condition, in the hope that in the future my future generations can enjoy the games I have; I hope they love RPG's as much as I do, because 90% of what I have are RPG's. I also hope that one day, if I die before I am able to fully immerse myself in the lives of my future generations, they can get to know me not only through my memoirs, but by the games I have played.
I don't have 209 DS games (only have 24 ds games and around 30 game boy/color/advance games), but then again I only buy those that I know I will like or have been referred to me. I have about 120 games in total from every system, which STILL doesn't match up to JUST your DS collection. Wow.

Is there a bigger picture???
I want to compare this collection to my meager collection (about a fifth of the games in his collection).
Peace.

that's as big as it goes. lotta games, but a bad camera, go figure haha.
(just for clarification purposes, i believe when i sent this in, my collection stood at 209 games, 14 of which were gba games. as of now, my ds collection stands at 209 ds games [ironically], and 14 gba games. the picture is not current)

ggamdizzle, the link you gave doesn't work.
My browser doesn't like the "%20" in your link.
I replaced the %20 with "/" & removed the spaces (why were there spaces anyway?), but all I get is that the image has been moved or replaced.
Maybe post a working link???
Peace.

I can view the image now ... but you were NOT kidding about a bad camera.
Everything is blurry, I can't identify the games by looking at the picture. Oh, well ...
Thanks anyway.
Peace.

I've only got 11 DS games myself, as well as 4 (apparently) obsolete GBA games =p
Taking into account other consoles (from SNES forward), PC, and also VC titles, I'm at 97.

i try to keep my library to a minimum as far as imports go, because it would stretch my wallet far too much otherwise. i have 4 i believe:
game & watch collection
arkanoid ds (bought for paddle)
jump superstars
jump ultimate stars
