(Page 1)2. I guess I have better things to do with my money than replace a DS that works just fine.
I mean depending on what price it comes in at you could easily buy 2 - 4 games for the same amount. Why bother with a new DS just for looks? That's crazy talk.

3. You forgot the poll option "Maybe, it depends on what other features the unit has". Smaller form factor and 4 levels of screen brightness just aren't enough to make me run out and buy one. Instead I took the last option, which depended on price. If it's not too much of a premium to trade in my old DS and have a minimal amount of the balance left over, I *might* consider it. But otherwise, I'm sure I will probably just sit on the sidelines and continue to use my original DS happily enough.

4. The only reason I said no is because my two brothers both already have DSs so I can play theirs whenever.

5. I wont be. Personally the DS is already too small for my rather large, scrawny hands. It took me about two weeks of playing to finally get to the point where my hands found a decent way to hold the system without them hurting almost continually. I can only imagine that the 'lite' model will be even harder for me to hold.

6. I chose the last option.
I want one, and i'll buy one asap, that is when i'll have some extra-money :(

7. And you forgot : Yes, because I don't have a "classic" DS. Honestly, what refrained me from buying a DS till now was its awful look. Now I don't have any arguments :-)

8. I really wish I could, and it'd be helpful if I did, because then I could give my "old" DS to my kid, and use the new one, but alas... we're buying a house, and we're going to be more poor than we are now. So if anything, she's going to have to save up for her own, wait for Christmas, or we just keep timesharing mine.

9. I said "maybe, depends on the release date and price". I just got my DS and I love it... but I do think it's a bit of a chunky monkey. The "DS Lite" (who else is predicting a name change for the US market?) looks a lot more refined... not a revolutionary change, but just tighter and better looking from an industrial design standpoint. I would like to have one, but probably won't buy one immediately - the wife would probably kill me.
Of course, said wife's also in Japan right now visiting family and has been going on and on about the Brain Training series, which she previously didn't know about, so I'm trying to work her over and convince her to take my old DS for herself so I can buy a Lite... we'll see how that works out :)

10. Yeah, maybe if the weight came down more than 20% for the redesign I'd think about replacing my beloved 1st gen. I dunno, the lite just looks kind of cheap, like shoddy clamshell handhelds from the 80s. and the casemod crowd will def. stick to the old-school form factor of the 1st gen, that famicom mod is a good example.
i dunno, i think there should be a place for chunky design. when it's open, the 1st gen is just plain beautiful.

11. You forgot the option of:
Buying a DS Lite, giving my old DS as a gift.

12. I waited, waited, then waited again
and it came, this will be my first NDS, I really didn't like the first design and knew nintendo could do better
I'm buying this for me because of Metroid Hunters, Elektro Plankton and hopefully an F-Zero game will come out for it
and my Girlfriend will get good use out of it with all the Mario Advance titles and I'll try get Her into the Castlevania series too
thing is though, I'm waiting for a black DSlite, could be awhile

13. although the redesign is nice, its not enough for me to warrant going out and purchasing a whole new unit and go through the hassle of ebaying my current one. I was one of the lucky ones to get in on the $99 DS at target around thanksgiving and since Im cheap and the DS does what I want it to do perfectly, I'm going to stick with my old one.

14. If Nintendo want any hope of selling me one of these, they're going to have to make it very cheap, or allow me to get a big discount for trading in my old one because I'm perfectly happy with my DS right now. Besides, nothing is sexier than the GBASP ;).

16. Well, the Lite piqued my interest in the platform, and I ended up buying a DS yesterday.
Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and a DS was too good to pass up for $260AUD (I'm sure there is cheaper out there).
I decided the Lite could be up to 2-3 months away here, plus the price is higher. This thing isn't gonna be used in public, so the old design is fine for me. This is kinda funny because I have always thought it looked crap, and I loved the DS Lite design. Too bad for DS Lite that I'm an impulsive buyer ;).

17. I just got a DS for Christmas, so I'll be holding off for a while. Hopefully the DS Lite will be available in darker colors.

1. Yeah, the 'old' DS might not be the sexiest thing in the world when closed (those damn ridges on the lid ruin it for me), but when do you ever leave your DS closed? Unlike the PSP, we have great games. I could never really get into gaming but Nintendo makes it so much fun. I haven't played my PS2 (that I have way too many games for) in a really long time, but I play my DS every day, and have for months (that's a record for me). Usually when I buy a game I play it once or twice and then never again. It sucks, I wish I had an addictive personality :)
