Charlie Staats, one of our most handsome readers, recently sent in a sorrowful tale of loss and regret. It also involved a talking dog obsessed with produce. To say the least, we thought it was a magnificent read.Aside from his included tale, Charlie spoke of things grounded a bit more in reality, namely arriving at a local Toys 'R Us to acquire one of the free goodies that are available via download. Instead, when following the steps on the sheet while in the store, he received a bottle sans item. When asking an employee "Hey, what's the haps, man?" he was greeted with a response that informed him another store in the local area was also reporting the same issue of bottle sans item.
Any of you have the same trouble as our handsome hero Charlie? Completed the steps with ease and find the possibility of anything otherwise remote?

my toys r us said they hadn't recieved the package yet, probably just a ds card to put in thier download station ds unit. but since all toys r u stores share the same shipping schedules, i suspect the empty bottle was a fluke and the stores are a day late in setting this up... i will try tonight or tomorrow.
also, there were about 9 other people in my toys r us with ds's doing the same thing, so we had to take turns so as to not tag each other.
after that we all hung out and played in towns.
all in all it was a successful day. and very well may be the secret point nintneod was trying to make...

Everything worked okay for me, once they opened out their wireless station and turned the DS on that contains the animal crossing items.
I was there for some time trying to get all 6 rewards, I was surprised to find I could get all 6 by just sending out bottles with the same character, and not 1 reward per town as I had originally heard.

How long do you have to keep your DS in tag mode before you get something? I went today and tried it and got nothing. Will the DS alert you once something is received in tag mode?

I work at the local Toys R Us and we haven't even gotten in the card with the Animal Crossing free gift. Our Nintendo rep. hasn't been in since last week. He'll be the one to bring it. Fucker.

I went to my local TRU today, and they said their Nintendo rep had came by with the new version of the DS Download Station Game Card, but when I connected, it was still V2.

I went to toys r us today and got all six items. It took a while as all the people there had to take turns using tag mode to prevent us from recieving other peoples messages.

what the hell does 'sans' mean? maybe it's just that i'm brittish but i've not heard that term before. i don't actually own animal crossing so maybe it's a term from that i dunno.
i don't even know if the uk toy r us's are doing this free gift thing anyway.

"Sans" means "without"...it's definitely not an American term...nor is it slang...indeed...it's from old French.
At any rate...I made the 30 minute drive out to Toys R Us and, as far as I could tell, there was no download station...just a cardboard box labeled "download station"...the poor woman working there said 6 people had been by already and hadn't gotten it to work and she was going to "call that Nintendo guy tomorrow..."

W00h00! I went back to TRU today, and sent 2 bottles, and got 2 items. Unfortunately, I got 2 of the same '?' boxes, but hey, there's always tomorrow! :)
