The votes are in and, in a very unsurprising turn of events, just about everyone and their grandmother wants The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. We don't blame you, as every adventure Link has been on has been an incredibly endearing one for us, why should it be any different for you all?

I actually voted for Pokemon. Zelda would probably be my next choice. Oh and Spectrobes's mighty 5 votes brings out a little chuckle to me.

I didn't vote in that poll (somehow I always miss those) but I would have voted for Zelda as well, especially since it's the sequel to WW. After that I think either FFCC or FFXII would be next for me, probably FFCC although I have never owned a Final Fantasy game, I'm going to get FFIII after my semester ends and I've played FFTA on an emulator because I didn't have a GBA, and what I saw I loved. I also played a little of FFX and I loved that too, the sphere leveling up thing was really creative if a bit confusing at first. This year is going to be really good for me, since I have a part time job now and can get a game every other month while saving up for a new PC.

I didn't like Windwaker (sailing gets pretty booooring after a few hours) so Phantom Hourglass just does not appeal at all. I'm looking forward to Justice for All, and Pokemon Diamond, because I loved their precusors. However, I've been sorely disapointed with a lot of the DS games I've played so far. Developers seem to look at the DS simply as the GBA's successor (hence NSMB, Tetris, Phoenix Wright, Pokemon...etc) or are just ports of GC and N64 games (Zelda, Metroid, Mario 64 DS, Animal Crossing, Mario Cart). What devs need to start doing is looking for ideas that are new, original, and take full advantage of the DS's controls and dual screens. Games like Trauma Centre, and Cooking Mama are examples to follow, but they both use the same dynamic and get repetitive. Do I know what the ultimate, über killer app is? Nope! Why should I? I'm not the guy who makes the games. I can give a few suggestions, though: Canvas Curse 3D (side scrolling is not necessary given the hardware), DS Sports, Pictionary (multiplayer, doy!), Table Tennis alla Rockstar, and something in the style of Okami. I know I'm lisiting ports, but I'm not a genius like Shiggy, I have to think within the paramaters that are given to me.

I understand it's a bit of an aside, but it is a genuine one.
I would really like to play a decent use of the Bubble Bobble franchise by Rising Star. The last two outing have fallen way short of the expectations set by the original Taito series.
They had some innovative ideas, but they didn't manage to gel them together into a compelling whole.
I think ideally, I'd just love to have Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands and Parasol Stars on one DS cart. Retro heaven that I'd be willing to shell out for!
