DS Daily: How are you protecting your handheld?

With a gun?

No, but seriously, what kind of case set up do you have there? You can see this blogger's case above (got it at E3), and even one of our staff has their DS Lite insured (ask your agent). What about you guys? How is your beauty protected? Take a picture, describe it to us!

1. I got a couple of special decorative cases for the DS when I pre-ordered Diamond/Pearl.

Pics available upon request.

2. Free case with official nintendo magazine UK! Nice for a freebie too, the case you have pictured can be bought here for 10 quid I think. Mine is white, with the nintendo logo silk screened in red on the front, with 2 elastic straps on the inside to hold the ds, takes my ds lite with gba sticking out no problem.

3. I have a case from a One Piece DS Lite accessory pack. It's pretty fantastic... except that it's just the right size for the DS Lite and doesn't seem to fit it well with any extra styluses or anything... you know, like the One Piece stylus that came in the very same accessory pack.
Oy.

Anyway, otherwise, I'm very pleased with the soft case, though I don't really use the belt clip part of it. I had a One Piece skin for my DS Phat, but I couldn't bring myself to cover up Thalia's (my Lite's name) sleek, white perfection. It's a nice compromise (of course, I also still have my Naruto stylus, Phoenix Wright stylus, both Pokemon styluses... I really like pimping out my DSes)

4. I have a fairly light padded slipcase for my lite, which happily holds the ds and a few spare games. It dosen't really protect teh ds more than stopping it getting scratched and some fairly light padding, but so far I haven't needed any more than that as I try and take care of it and not mistreat it.

The case itself I got as part of a promotion when I bought pokemon blue at electronics boutique (UK chain, long since turned into game) all those years ago - designed for the gameboy pocket, but fits the advance and dslite perfectly too, and why bother buying a new case when this one fits perfectly and does all I need it to do?

5. With ballastics nylon.

6. for now, i keep my Lite in the little paper sleeve, just like it came out of the box. i've used this clear plastic case that came with a buncha NFL team inserts (don't use the insert and it's clear), which was perfect because it only added a little bit of bulk and was very easy to play through. i think you can find them now with MLB inserts for about $15.

7. I threw mine into an old GBA (not SP) case. It fits perfectly with room for extra games. Who'da thunk.

8. Mine has teeth marks.

Posted at 10:11AM on May 8th 2007 by NatchDan

9. i keep mine in a Brain Age case that I bought from the Times Square Toys R Us..its pretty big and holds all of my DS accessories...it came with a neat little towel to keep the case clean, and a "pen" that is a stylus...its nice, big, and heavily padded Not with ballistics nylon!

10. mine is very much like yours. it has the same white material with the ds logo on it. but instead of being zip opened at the side, it's open one end with a fold open flap with a clip. i think they're licenced nintendo ones. anyway, it's real good. has a slot for my ds, as well as a couple of other pouches that i use one for games, and the other for my microfiber cleaning cloth.

we're too similar.

11. I have a polycarbonate case with silicon inserts [black and blue] and a leather case that can hold two extra cartridges. Aside from than I lock my DS lite in a safe. teehee.

12. i use a crystal hard case and it works perfectly. here check it out!

14. got a crystal hard case like Yan's above. Only problem is there's no room to hold extra games. My son has a zip case, with nintendogs pawprints on, which has a zip compartment in the back for cartridges, but he never uses it!

15. It feels better knowing I'm not the only one with a pokemon case.

Posted at 11:05AM on May 8th 2007 by Topher

16. I keep mine in this:
http://www.sfbags.com/products/nintendo-ds/nintendods.htm

It was a little pricey, but it works great...very soft on the inside, holds six games and an extra stylus and has a zip pocket on the back for more games or miscellaneous.

17. I have a nice white import case for play-asia.com, along with a few soft clothes to keep the screen nice :)

18. DSl is stuffed in pocket (by itself), games are stored in pockets in my wallet meant for the scads of credit cards most Americans are assumed to carry. And I used to keep my MMD somewhere also, but now that my ezflashV has showed up, it goes in the wallet, and the MMD goes into storage (or sale, if anyone wants it + the nopass + 1gb CF)

19. I have a handmade and self-designed little bag for my Nintendo DS Lite.
It has 5 types of drapery. 4 kinds black and a white one. It carries my DS and 8 DS Games.
Everything is handmade from a good japanese friend of mine. She has written Nintendo on the front and my name on the back in japanese.
