Been waiting to trade up? Now might be the time!

For those of you on their mailing list, you might've noticed GameStop is offering more bang for your buck in trading in your GBA SP or DS Phat toward that DS Lite, giving $30 and $60 bucks respectively in trade-in credit towards the slim, dual-screened handheld. Why, that's almost half the cost of the thing when getting rid of your Phat, so why wouldn't you take advantage of the offer? Maybe you don't have the store where you live or you just love your Phat too much to part with it. Regardless of the reason, we still think you need to get your hands on a Lite.

They're just ... just ... just so beautiful.

[Thanks, Brian!]

i hope my local EB is doing this, because that's finally enough motivation to actually go get a Lite. i will miss my old one if/when it goes, but it will be worth it!

I like the Phat just fine. The lites are too girly looking, and the gba games don't fit in all the way, which is annoying.

Yeah... I'm not so sure this is a good deal for SP owners... I know I paid around $80 for mine and for them to only give me $30 seems like kind of a rip.

Best Buy has a deal going where you buy a DS Lite and one of the Brain Games and get a $20 gift card.

I like that one a bit better... then maybe sell my Electric Blue SP on ebay or craigslist...

Thoughts?

You'd make more money on eBay or CraigsList, AND you wouldn't be helping EB/GS/Satan. And it wouldn't be store credit.

I newver get rid of my systems so a Lite can wait.
If anyone is willing I'll buy your SP. I have no way of playing GB games with a back lit screen and would like one.

I'd love to trade in my phat and get my wife a lite, but like another poster I never give up any of my Nintendo hardware (or my Macs). So parting with my release day phat would be very hard just to save $60.

But I want to, I just know that I wouldn't be able to actually do it.
