Everyone's eager to see what Sonic and Mario's first collaboration will look like, right? Well, here it is! The DS version, anyway. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games looks pretty okay! We don't really know what else to say about it. It's in 3D, and includes, at the very least, long jump, archery, hammer throw, and some kind of track event.Sonic and Tails are participating in the manner of the ancient Olympians-- nude. We don't know if they've covered themselves in olive oil as the Greeks did, and we hope we never find out. We hope nobody ever finds out.

- Hmm, looks good for the DS. Luigi looks like a refined version of his 64DS model; now with fingers. But, either it's a really compressed picture or Sonic has bad textures. Well, there's quite a bit of detail for a DS game.

A quote from Wikipedia re: the DS 3D hardware:
The system's 3D hardware performs transform and lighting, texture-coordinate transformation, texture mapping, alpha blending, anti-aliasing, cel shading and z-buffering. However, it uses Point (nearest neighbor) texture filtering, leading to some titles having a blocky appearance. The system is theoretically capable of rendering 120,000 triangles per second at 60 frames per second and the pixel fill rate is 30 million pixels per second. Unlike most 3D hardware, it has a set limit on the number of triangles it can render as part of a single scene; this limit is somewhere in the region of 2048 triangles per frame at 60 FPS. This is mainly due to its use of a form of Scanline rendering which inherently restricts the number of polygons that can be drawn at a time. The 3D hardware is designed to render to a single screen at a time, so rendering 3D to both screens is difficult and can decrease performance significantly.

Well... I've been a Sonic fan for quite awhile and I think this game... well SUCKS! Mario may be ready for any kind of sports, but Sonic would never really take the time to participate in the Olympics especially since he would dominate so much that it would be unfair. Mario wouldn't normally stand a chance, especially at racing of any kind. Knuckles would have a insanely overpowered arm at hammer throw. Mario wouldn't stand any kind of chance at a long jump because Sonic has homing attack, Tails has his flying, and Knux has gliding. Ya, you may be saying "Bowser may have a chance at beating Knux at throwing", but he never punched through solid metal. On Sonic Adventure, this is a regular thing for him. Another thing, the game would have to have an insanely large amount of characters to even be a game that fans would like. Sega's seriously taken a turn for the worst. One more thing, how will Robotnik play in this?
