We like m-words around here! First we discussed a little machismo, and now we're moving onto masochism. Some days, we even like to discuss the ol' medulla oblongata! That's somewhere near your prefrontal cortex, by the way. But we're talking about masochism today -- that is, the things we do to punish ourselves in the name of fun ... like erasing your files on Clubhouse Games on purpose just for the fun (horror?!) of replaying Stamp Mode all over again. How about no-sword Zelda runs? We can't imagine why anyone would do that, but apparently, it happens. We'd also like to nominate playing the old game Deadly Towers at any time, for any reason. You obviously hate yourself if you do that (but don't worry, we did it, too).So what have you done just for the hell of it, to make a beloved game even harder than usual? We love a good challenge, and we want to hear about yours.

Pacifist runs through FPS games are always fun - go through an entire game without firing a single shot. It's even more fun on the games that are not specifically designed for it (i.e. Doom 2, as opposed to something like Deus Ex). You have to get creative by making other monsters kill each other.

Play through Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow without any casualties (except in the last level)
Or, one time I erased my Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time data and started all over after i had beaten it.

For fun, I played Wii Sports Tennis using 2 hands.
I selected 2 Miis that were both on Pro status (about 1200 each), and took on the PC. Left hand controlled Mr. Burns (Simpsons), while the other hand controlled Alfred (Batman).
It was fun and frustrating, because every so often I had to switch hands :P

I played Marble Mania Koropina for the wii on multiplayer split screen, but I was controlling both the first and second player wiimotes. I completed a few levels this way. It's a fun challenge if you want to try it, especially if you can do it really fast!

Playing ExciteTruck with one hand, or Guitar Hero (easy and medium only) with just index fingers.

Haha, some good answers here! I'll have to try that in Wii Sports. Worst thing I've done to myself in tennis was switch sides, so I was essentially playing myself. That's definitely a heart-rate-riser, but mostly because you're always panicking.
Man, Dead Rising. There are so many ways to punish yourself with that game. It's about time I played it again....

In FFVIII I went through the game without refining any magic and drawing all of it from enemies. Even Ultima (talk about painful).
Thing is, I didn't KNOW you could refine magic until my second play through. oops. I guess this could have also gone on the "do you read the manual?" blog post...

i did a few tracks in mario kart ds while holding my ds lite upside-down. confusing at first, but after a few minutes, not too difficult.
me and my friends sometimes do timesplitters 2 multiplayer levels without using any thumbs.
also, i regularly go back to a game i completed a while ago and just delete all the data and do it again.
