Who needs a stylus? Or even a pair of styli? Pfft. Real gamers don't even need them to play Taiko Drum Master DS -- though we admit, it probably makes things a lot easier. Bring on the "pair of finger" in this week's video spotlight! Check out the action after the post break. We're curious what happened to this fellow's free styli-drumsticks, though. Did he just cast them aside in favor of going natural? How would you play?

Someone needs to combine this game with Jam Sessions and EBA for the ultimate DS rhythm game, No! wait add It's a Wonderful World or Draglade fighting in there as well.

I'm shocked by how much like a real Taiko game that looks. I'm curious about how well the touch-screen interface works. Not too well according to #1, but WAY AWESOME according to the video.

It's a Wonderful World's fighting system has no rhythm requirements. What people assumed was a DDR type thing for Shiki is just a fighting game style button combination thing.
Also, I use a part of empty mechanical pencils to play my copy of Taiko no Tatsujin.

I have tried various ways to play the game. For a while i was playing with only 1 stylus then i started playing with 2 fingers as in the video (especially with that song in the video) but now i am playing with 2 Sharpie markers...... it just feels better.... and its more fun...

I had a button/stylus thing going on the last time I played. I started off playing with just the buttons, then just the stylus, the switching back and forth mid song, then I changed to button config 2 and went just buttons, now my button/stylus hybrid.
The touchscreen response is great. But, I think the drum is a little big and it makes it a little tricky to hit the outside region, which is why I like to use the buttons too. And, once this gets localized, it'll be that much better :)

Well, I don't use my fingers because the oils in your skin can damage the touch screen. I like playing with two styli.

If you're worried for your touch screen invest in a screen protector especially from Hori. I find it essential for EBA... Oh crap I sent EBA to my sister and she doesn't have a screen protector...
