While Izuna 2 looks, for the most part, exactly like its predecessor, it is getting one significant new addition: a tag system. Izuna will be able to tag out and be replaced by Shino (pictured) or another character, allowing you to continue in a dungeon past the period in which you'd normally need to bail out. It's important to go into dungeons with a friend! That's just basic ninja training. We don't know how many other dungeon crawlers have a character-switching mechanic, but it seems like a great way for players to manage difficult dungeons. In fact, we hope that hardcore players of this kind of thing don't think it'll make the game too easy.

Difficulty wasn't the problem for me in Izuna. It was repetitiveness--the dungeons were bland, and the game itself had an overall underwhelming feel to it. Character toggling may go a long way to alleviate this (especially if it means more dialogue, as I felt gypped after reading about how witty the localization was going to be and then seeing that the characters got maybe one or two lines per hour of gameplay), so I'm giving the franchise a second shot if Atlus will be so kind as to bring it here.

I can't wait for the sequel, hopefully Atlus will pick it up for the US like they did the original. I've been playing Izuna for the past few weeks, and it's been a great time.
