The game that followed was the longest Tetris game I ever played; I couldn't begin to estimate the time it lasted, but by the time it was over, I had amassed over 1,000 lines. I could have paused the game and turned the system off, but I didn't want to risk failure when I came back to zippy level-30 gameplay. At the same time, I was tired.
This shirt from Huzzah Goods reminded me of that night. Even if you haven't spent hours and hours battling Tetris for sleep time, Tetris dreams are probably a fairly common experience. It's a really cute shirt too.

I have seen DDR arrows, Puzzle Fighter blocks, and Hexic hexes in my dreams. But never Tetris, oddly enough.

Get this, that's actually something called Tetris Effect, no joke!

Playing Tetris for hours on end and dreaming or thinking about tetris is called Tetris Effect, awesome huh?
I LOVED Tetris DX btw, to this day I still play it on my DS using a flash cart and emulator, the gameplay rocks, the engine rocks, and being able to save games was a killer feature.

I borrowed PPL and Tetris DS from a neighbor, and I was playing Tetris endlessly at 2am in the morning (I never could hit the 200 lines!), when I shut my eyes, all I saw where tiny blocks falling from the sky...
Damned tetris effect. I want my Mario Bros dreams back!

My freshman year of college was spent playing Tetris on a friends top-loading NES.
I played so much that when I would look at things such as buildings, furniture or even items at the dinner table I would try to think how they would fit each other.

Where and when did you go to college, Pizza Pasta? I mean, I use my real name here online, so you'd know, but I sure did bring my toploading NES to college and let a bunch of people play Tetris.

I could have sworn that I had somehow accidentally laser-etched tetris blocks on my retinas after a multi-hour session of V-Tetris on the Virtual Boy once. Never dreamed about it, but I certainly saw it when I was awake.

*grins* And here I thought I was the only newb that dreamed of falling Tetris blocks in my sleep.
I gotta' get this shirt.....buahah, I must document the existence of the Tetris Effect in my life! (I'm still laughing at the fact that there is actually something called the Tetris Effect).
And on another note:
fgsfds - why does it matter? It pertains to DS-goodness, and it's a kick-arse shirt. They're allowed to blog commercial products, I mean...after all, what are games? =P

I never had the Tetris Effect but i did have the Meteos Effect to the point where every time i would close my eyes (even blink sometimes) i would see blocks and would be coming up with strategies. Very strange.

forget about the bi-weekly thing, I never have time to update the blog even if I have a lot of near-finished comics, heh.
