We'd like you to come up with a design idea for a game combining two divergent genres or styles? How about a real-time strategy game about one-on-one fighting? Or an abstract music-based racing game? No idea is too crazy -- not after Puzzle Quest.

OK, a rhythm based platformer where you have a variety of short levels with brief 'scenes' inbetween each, and during these scenes you have to tap out mad rhythms. Then, you go through the platforming level. The quality and response of the control over the character depends on how well you performed on the song, meaning that if you were tapping badly then your little platform fellow will be sluggish and feel like he has had maybe those 'puffy balls' in yoshi's island that make you go funny a little bit, but if you handled like a master all the rhythmic elements, then you would be able to control the guy like a prince (or princess). There of course would be 'boss fights,' which would not be 'hit the boss 3 times,' but combine the rhythm elements with the platforming gameplay for the first time, requiring players to use a stylus and the D-pad at the same time to rhythmically fire at pre-set 'weakspots' that flash around the boss in time to the music. At this point, it brings shooting elements into the equation without ever really leaving the comfort of the rhythm or platform genres, as you must leap about from thing to thing avoiding the bosses hits and stay mindful of the beat the whole time. I wish to god someone could sell me this game!

I've got two.
1) Cutthroat: A Massively multiplayer online side-scrolling platformer featuring pirates racing for treasure. The game consists of standard sidescrolling platform levels with multiple paths to the end. Players are pirates trying to get the treasure at the end of each level. The key is that they then have to return to the beginning of the level with the treasure in hand. All along the way, players fight it out with each other in a struggle to gain control of the treasure long enough to carry it across the finish line.
2) Surf Ninjas With Uzis: A combination of extreme sports and shooters. You play a Ninja who can surf, ski, and skate. The game would be mostly 3D on-rails with the camera perspective directly behind the character. In addition to performing tricks and trying to reach your goal as quickly as possible, you would have to fight off rival ninjas, gang members, and sharks... with uzis, of course. (I thought of this one after seeing the Wii balance board. Players could shoot with the Wiimote and control movement by leaning on the board, but a DS version might be fun too.)

I think a Puzzle Game/RTS could be pretty cool.

What I mean by a "Puzzle Game/RTS" is this:
- Circles rise from the bottom of the touch screen, and they can be only moved diagonally. Connecting at least 3 of the same color makes them disappear.
- Making large amounts of circles disappear at once will cause 'garbage' to fall on your opponent's touch-screen. You eliminate the Garbage by inputting a button string (this would only use the D-pad and L button for right-handed gamers), or by spending a certain amount of circles.
- There are 7 different colors: Brown, Silver, Red, Blue, Yellow, White and Black each corresponding to a different element. The elements tied to the colors are Rock, Metal, Fire, Water, Lightning, Light, and Dark respectively.
- Each circle of a color to disappear results in a single unit of that color being spawned from that player's base.
- The RTS part plays out on the top screen, and you use voice commands to move your units.
- Each element has its advantages and disadvantages, and unique applications in battle.
- You lose when your base is destroyed, when the bottom screen fills, or you run out of units.
