We've already seen scans and heard ramblings about a sequel to Pokemon Ranger, but Nintendo officially announced the game today in Japan. Nintendo stated that the game will be coming to Japan on March 20th, and will be called Pokemon Ranger Batonnage. Using the word "batonnage" makes us wonder if we'll be able to drink fine wines with the Pokemon in the game. The least we could do after catching the critters, enslaving them, and forcing them to fight is give them a nice glass of Château de Pikachu, don't you think?Other then a confirmation and a Japanese release date, not much is known about the title. It shouldn't be long before information about an international release surfaces, though.

First off, in reply to your post, I would recommend you buy the original game that EBA was based off, Osu Tatakae Ouendan, as well as the sequel, Ouendan 2. They're a little more expensive and they're in japanese, but they're totally worth it.
Secondly, I'm kind of looking forward to this game, but I'm wondering about the title. Batonnage? That's a weird subtitle... though I guess I kind of understand it. Afer all, "baton" means stick in French. Stylus, stick, kind of makes sense. But it's still weird.

Wow, another pokemon game.I'm so excited. I can barely contain it. That's why I'm not even using exclamation points. I'm just that excited. NAAAAAAHHH!!! I've always HATED Pokemon games! I got Diamond cuz it looked cool, and beat it in about a week or so, it was THAT easy! And then afterwards, there was no point in even playing it! I'll stick with Advance wars and Fire Emblem to get my strategy fill, thanks.

Ranger isn't a strategy game, though. It's more of an action RPG.

Looks like Darkrai on the cover, so I guess there will be some sort of event in this game to get Darkrai in the real pokémon game for the DS, Diamond and Pearl. You know, just like that Manaphy thing.
