This cryptic letter landed in the inboxes of Nintendo fans up and down the land, ahead of Professor Layton and the Curious Village's release on February 10th. We're only really posting this because we appreciate when a company puts a bit of thought into promoting its game, and this isn't the first time we've been charmed by promotional material for Level 5's adventure game.
Professor, we look forward to reading your future correspondence, to helping you unravel the many riddles of St. Mystere, and to enduring your quasi-British accent!
[Thanks, brownkidd!]

This e-mail only bummed me out by reminding me how poor I am and how I have at least 4 unopened DS games that I've still yet to play.

indeed, i also wish that more companies put a similar effort into promoting their games. something like this couldn't be that expensive and its a great way to get people excited about a game prior to release

I was also very impressed (and intrigued) by this email. I've heard of the game but didn't know too much about it yet, but this email really got me interested. Seeing my name on the envelope was a really nice touch.
For some reason the part that interested me most about the email was the "you will receive another letter shortly" bit. I'm seriously wondering if Nintendo will be sending me another with more information..

Hey, thanks for posting this! I thought it was pretty clever for Nintendo to market the game like this. Sort of viral... very unlike Nintendo. I'm anxiously awaiting the next email. I wonder what it could be...
