Warning: the video above contains spoilers, of sorts! Really, it's the same thing you'd see almost immediately upon powering up The World Ends With You, but you may not want to see story sequences until they're coming out of your DS screen -- even if we've discussed the premise before.
This cutscene is the opening to the game's first day, and introduces the protagonist Neku Sakuraba and his bizarre predicament. Because it's a Square Enix game, the opening cutscene is twelve minutes long. That's not really a complaint, either. People buy the company's games for the storytelling -- actually interesting gameplay like this is kind of a bonus! Check after the break for the second and third days' story sequences (which may contain for-real spoilers).

I'm nearing the end of this game and it's easily one of the most engaging hand held titles ever. I'm easily bored with the linear-ness of most RPG's (not including the cliche layouts of JRPG's) but this particular title really keeps you, the player, on your feet. From the clothing integration, the music, and battle system, everyone's bound to love something in this Kingdom Hearts-esque gem.

How long is it?
I heard each day is like, 15 minutes long, and that there are only four days.

Got the UK version of this on the R4. Played the first chapter and was board as hell. Stories a lil too cliche for me with an overwhelming amount of dialog. Anyone else with the UK version wanna tell me if there is something further into the game that should keep me playing or should I continue with Rondo of Swords.

I also got the UK version since I couldn't wait for the US release. Is there supposed to be a difference between each one? I'm at the 6th day of the Shiki Chapter and so far it looks the same.

I bought it for that very fact, and also because I'm a huge Square fan.
It's made practically by the very same people, so it's understandable that people say that.

I don't like Square. I don't like fashion. My music tastes run to punk. I don't like long story sequences in games.
I'm ADDICTED to this thing. Its insane. The battle mechanics are amazing - no random battles! Each attack has its own activation mechanic! Your badge pins (i love badge pins!) leve l up but sometimes you need to turn off the system to give them the right EXP. Double screen battling. Soooooooo much cool stuffl.

Apparently, like the stereotypical male, Neku thinks with his crotch? So the thought bubbles would seem to indicate!

The more I see of this game, the more I think this game is definitely intended for an age group far below mine, namely teenage otaku.
