While your local Blockbuster might already offer a selection of DS titles on its shelves, keep in mind that the same isn't true everywhere else. For reasons unexplained, up until now, the movie and video game rental chain has thought it wise not to make the Nintendo DS, whose hardware and software sales have been booming since 2005, a standard fixture in its video game aisles.In an email press release sent out yesterday, Blockbuster announced its plans to introduce DS game rentals, as well as hardware and accessories, to all of its locations nationwide. Finally, gamers will be able to try out Godzilla: Unleashed Double Smash before deciding whether or not it's worth buying.
Next on Blockbuster's list of emerging platforms to support: pogs.

Yeah, I remember when they got rid of the GBA games, saying that "They don't sell well enough.". They said the same thing about DS and Wii games.

Wow - I remember when I first got my DS (not long after its release) thinking it sure would be great if Blockbuster rented DS games.
Not sure if it would be worth it anymore. At their rental prices it seems more economical to just buy a game outright and trade it back in if you truly won't ever play it again.

And I know at least one Rental Place that still lets you rent SNES and N64 games.

Too little too late in my book. I swore off blockbuster awhile ago and haven't seen them do anything that would make me want to return. My small collection of consoles includes a psp, so why bother. They don't support it.
Gamefly.com, my current love, has a huge catalog, supports all my consoles, costs less, sells games at a discount as well as rents, has a game trade in program, free music downloads, and a sweet perks system.
They also deliver.:)
