DS Lite AC adapters for vain people

While the rest of you suckers are out looking like chumps with mismatched AC adapters, the more fashionable among us are rocking an $18 third-party power cord in the same color as our DS Lite.

We'll leave it to you to decide if, considering that Nintendo sells their official AC adapter for $9.95, it's worth the extra money to get extremely minor home decorating assistance from Toytech. On second thought, we won't leave it to you. It's probably not worth it.

Bringing the power of the sun to the DS Lite

Do you ever stop and think about the resources that power your electronic lifestyle? Sometimes we look around at the stack of consoles and the computers and think, well ... maybe someday we should cut back a little(yeah, right). Well, the folks at Tom's Hardware are looking for ways to incorporate solar power in their gaming consoles, and we applaud their efforts. Apparently, they made a solar-powered Wii that wasn't fully dependent on the sun, and that just didn't seem good enough. They wanted something that really demonstrated what could be done to bring solar power to gaming, so they needed a different device. The answer? The DS Lite. We applaud their choice. You can, too -- just head on over there and watch the video.

Pokemon: Diamond/Pearl confirmed for Spring! [update 1]

Yeah they are.
Pokemon: Diamond/Pearl
is, beyond doubt, the most anticipated release in the American market for the wonderous and fancy DS. Despite runaway sales in Japan and critical success, however, Nintendo has remained extremely tight-lipped about its eventual release date, with nothing more than a "TBA 2007" showing up in their catalogs.

The latest Nintendo Power, however, seems to have mention of a Spring release; those trusty soldiers at NeoGAF seem to have their heads on straight. Furthermore, Nintendo's official Pokemon website is now claiming an April 22nd release date, and despite Nintendo's penchant for delaying games till all nine eight planets align, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. We won't lie ... we want this game, stigma be damned. The Pokemon franchise, if nothing else, has repeatedly demonstrated engrossing gameplay and attention to detail, and the new Wi-Fi trading system just makes it all the sweeter.

Wanna know what else? Nintendo Power gave the upcoming Phoenix Wright: Justice for All a 9 out of 10. Awesome. If David didn't mention that you have to love Phoenix Wright to come work here, then consider this an amendment of epic proportions.

[Update 1: Trusty commenters. More information from Pokemon.com added, and fixed a typo.]

Zelda goodies in Animal Crossing

Much to the surprise of, well, just about every person we come in contact with on a regular basis, we still play Animal Crossing: Wild World. Perhaps we aren't alone though, because word on the street is that Nintendo is issuing out another free goody to celebrate the launch of some game called Zelda on the Wii. We're going to be keeping a close watch on this situation due to our continued support for the game and love of all things free.

For those who would like to join us, the time to log into Wi-Fi Connect is during the week of November 17th through the 24th. Upon connecting, players will receive the rare gift enclosed in a letter, which will be patiently awaiting them in their mailbox outside of the house. It's totally legit information, originating from the 210th volume of Nintendo Power magazine.

Nintendo Power dishes out Phantom Hourglass info

Some new information on the upcoming stylus-drive Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has emerged via the latest issue of Nintendo Power. N-Sider has taken the time to condense the information for those lacking the fortitude to actually go out into the world and purchase the magazine, or even lack the strength to a wield a pen and fill out the requisite information to subscribe.

Out of the repeated information, a few new items are able to be extracted. The game supposedly features one primary dungeon that Link will have to navigate, yet will become impassable to him at times, which will require him to venture into other minor dungeons to acquire an item of some sort that will allow him to progress. What's also interesting is that the dungeons will also be home to what are being dubbed "chasers." These enemies are invincible, mercilessly pursuing Link upon the mere sight of him.
