A reader writes: "While swimming through your undoubted sea of DS information, have you ever come across any official or homebrew information relating to outputting the video of the two DS screens to, say, a TV or two?"
Rumor has it that Nintendo did make a few DSs capable of outputting to TV, "around 10" says one internet commenter. Any readers know of a workable solution?
[Thanks, webbie Bud]

Until they make an official adaptor (to the Revolution, probably), It'd be almost impossible to simulate the two screens.

There's DSes (DS's?) outputting to TVs in the Nintendo Store in NYC, but when I asked the guy at the counter, he told me those were special custom-built machines just for the store. So far, no good solution that I know of.

On the U.S. Electroplankton site... there is a Musician Profile Video with David Hollands in the "What is it?" section. In the video you can see that he has his Nintendo DS connected to the monitor. It looks like one a single cable is used to output the video and one cable for the audio. So maybe, it is not impossible to modify a standard DS?

Allright, here's what I found. Most screenshots you see on the internet are taken with something called "IS-NIRTO-CAPTURE". See it for yourself at http://intsys.co.jp/tools/nitro/capture/index.html
Craig from IGN has supplied some info at
http://ds.ign.com/mail/2005-02-18.html about this marvelous thing:
The DS Nitro Capture unit's a nifty little box. The unit has an actual DS attached to it via a fat cable attached to where the DS cartridges would plug in. DS and GBA carts plug into the box at the top. To the rear are two GameCube-style output ports where I can choose to either output the top screen, the bottom screen, or both screens through either of the two ports. The downside to outputting both screens to one screen is seen in our videos -- the designers of this box utilize an interlacing trick to display the two screen's resolution on NTSC equipment. This interlacing trick can sometimes cause scanlines to drop out when we're processing our movies at 30 frames per second, but for the most part the final product is, like ten bazillion times better than simply videotaping the screens with a camera.
And, on a final note, I remember reading about being able to pick up the DS on some portable tv's...
That's all :)
