Have the prices affected your decision, if you were previously planning to grab one? Or have the reports of rarity, which are helping to drive those high prices, accelerated the decision process?

If you spend $300 on something that costs $125 then you deserve your stupid tax. Minor software enhancements, two inferior cameras, and a shittier lifespan does not equal +$175.

Me, the biggest DS fan on this site, I'm a troll?
Bowser voice: har-ha-ha.
If you're too intellectually weak to come up with a rebuttal then please stand down and shut the fuck up. Moron.

i totaly agree with you. These@enchancements simply not worth of that money and kinda crappy in general. For me GBA suppport is more valuable than shitty cameras and SD slot (thus kinda useless when u have flasher)

There's always one fool who ends up swearing over something as trivial as this.
How petty you truly are. I pity your type.

majorfalcon, I agree with him. This is the weakest update to a product ever. Nintendo should be ashamed...

I dunno, there have been some pretty weak Gameboy and PSP updates...

majorfalcon is just one of the many idiots on the internet.
You're calling the 1st poster a troll just because he enumerated a few pertinent reasons for choosing not to import a DS? (especially with $100 over its retail price).

No joke, PSP fans upgraded to a smaller PSP with a screen that has awful tearing and in some cases the display doesn't even work. Atleast Nintendo's products always work.
The BEST thing about the DSi is that it ditched the awful enamel finish for a more matte finish, much better for a portable device that has your hands all over it and should be able to slide into your pocket without a case to keep it from getting scratched.

Going to have to agree with Bowser on this one. It may be a nice perk for new buyers, but paying a premium to have one now is a little nuts.

However he does have a point.
300$ is one heck of a big mark up.
I'll wait till it comes to the US and maybe with a few more Special DSi Games.
With luck by the time it gets to our shore it will also be homebrewable too...
I use my Current DS for Movies and Music, as well as PDFs and Comicbooks/Manga, and when it I get my headset for it, a VoIP Phone. Its more of portable Media Center then just a game console for me now. I hope I'll be able to do the same or better things with the DSi

Bowser, you would be funny if you didn't hammer your own wit into the ground by forcing it and just sounding like an ass. Subtlety is, itself, an art.

I'd think carefully about importing one. Nintendo is moving to region encoding on DS games.

I wasn't going to buy a DSi in the first place, anyways. I don't think importing a region-locked system from Japan is going to help either. Especially with it's crazy tax.
To tell you the truth, the region lock on the system just makes everything worse in the long run, because you have to pay up the ass for games in a different language.
I really hope that DS flash carts still work on the DSi. If not, I hope someone develops a flash cart for the DSi.

I really agree with you on the region lock situation. I really can't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to import a system that can't play games in a understandable language.
Although the lost of gba playability is a little discouraging, I believe I'll still be getting a US DSi. Its about time for a upgrade anyway, my DS phat's touchscreen has been acting all screwy. The extra screen space should be great for homebrew like colors ds.

well you can assume that slot 2 cards are not going to work as theres no more slot 2.
But i imagine a slot 1 card will still work , seeing as they so far theres been no real mention of any hardware upgrades , aka meaning putting some fixes on stopping the flashcards, althought it would be safe to assume they have tried to patch up a few things.
I doubt i'll get a DSi , recently sold my ds lite since it was forming some cracks on the hinge that would make it difficult to play. Got a PSP now , which seems far more nicer , actually like it a lot better. Still gonna get a DS again eventually, but right now i'd stick with a lite , as i know its a great little handheld , which the DSi has alot of proving to do.

Ha.
I'd rather take that 300 and spend it on vintage games for my SNES (CT, Yoshi's Island, Mario RPG).
Hrm... and the GBA slot is worth much more then those crappy add-ons, which might I add, that my cell phone does a better job of.

Exactly. People who can't bother to wait a little longer for what I feel isn't even a worthy upgrade are just extremely unwise. You've got all kinds of financial crisis all around you and you're willing to dish out 175 or so extra bucks for no better reason than to show off your DS camera a few months sooner than the rest of the country.
I'm not even getting one when it DOES come to the States because I don't have a need for any of the add-ons. It's cute, but very unnecessary.
