Rune Factory scans

Take RPG elements, mix them with battles and farming and you have Rune Factory.

You play as a young boy who, surprise, wakes up after being unconscious in a town and must regain his memory. How do you do that? You farm of course!

This boy has the ability of Arscode. What that magic is exactly we aren't too sure. An aspect of the game that is rather interesting is the ability to capture monsters you fight, raise them on your farm and add them to your battle party. This "New Harvest Moon" is shaping up rather well.

How can you wake up and still be unconscious?

I can still hardly believe that this idea is actually real. Still, if anybody can pull of a slightly unusual RPG, it's Natsume. They've done it before (Lufia, Harvest Moon, River King, etc.) and can do it again.

Famistu gave Rune Factory a 34/40. So I think the games gonna be good, especially since they said the game is able to last over 70 hours of new stuff.

Wow, this is the first I've heard of it and I'm already wanting it!

In my current state of FF-fanboyness / DS-RPG-fanboyness, this seems like just the thing to follow up FF3...

Any word on an English release date?

No word yet. There are a ton of DS rpgs coming out. Lots of DS games this year mostly original titles. I think developers are finally getting the hang of it.

#2, you know Lufia could've been so much more popular had Natsume had not use such piss-poor dungeon/puzzle design. Lufia 2 to me was the pinnacle of the series. Everything was great (Except the aforemention dungeon design). I just hope the dungeon crawling is at least a step up from their past works (I know they got the farming sim down pat).
