Gawd damn, Link really wants to catch that fairy.
Looks like the new control scheme will take a bit of getting used to... I'm sure it works fine in the normal game, but in the kind of arena shown in the video, its a pain when you want to turn sharply at high speed, such as doing a u-turn around a wall...
I'm sure we'll warm to it though.
Looks like a great game of chasey :D

I don't really like the looks of those controls at all.. Nintendo seems to be taking this whole touch screen to far in some cases for me. Starfox would have been a much nicer game for me if it used standard controls or atleast gave the option to use "old style" controls. Just because it has a touch screen does not mean we should always use it for the control system all the time.

After playing Animal Crossing for weeks on end, I got used to the touch screen controls, though I did swap back to the D-pad for certain tasks (moving furniture, catching bugs). Based on the video, however, it looks as though there may be some issues with picking up items? At times it appears as the player was trying to pick up a Triforce piece and would almost just circle around it, or just walk past it. If anyone was at GDC and played the demo, was it that tricky to control? Or were the times that it appeared to be troublesome actually instances where the player wasn't really trying (perhaps because the guards were on the way)?

I hope you have D-Pad as an option, because I just can't use the touch screen to move people..it sucks... I only use the touch screen in Animal crossing to sell items and stuff, which I think is brilliant, but when controlling movement it is easier to use the "classic" controls.

Seems there was some confusion as to how to pick up stuff in that video. Do you just press it on screen to pick it up, or is there a button command to press? I'm sure it's explained at the event, but not made too clear here right now.
The game looks quite fun to be honest, after playing Another Code (Trace Memory) for like, days on end (replay after replay) I kinda mastered the whole moving-using-the-touchscreen stuff. So I should be fine.

The game itself looks awesome. But, using the stylus for EVERYTHING? Even Link's movement? Won't it get in the way? I'm not liking that at all.

It wasn't hard to pick up the triforce pieces, you just had to tap on them with the stylus.
