There's something you guys will figure out in the coming months, so you might as well just accept it now: a certain girl-type blogger around these parts loves Monster Rancher. So get ready for random odes to the art of ranching, like today's featured video. Some people call it an ad. We call it art. Someone bring over a countdown timer, please. The time cannot pass quickly enough.(Someday, someone's going to make a video mashup of Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and Monster Rancher, and I'm simply going to die.)

I was DEEPLY addicted to MR2 for a while, the third was "meh", and I never even touched the fourth.
If this is anything like the first two, well... social lives are overrated anyway.

Someone needs to explain it to me. Not the appeal, but the actual gameplay. Children are supposed to be able to play this thing, right? And I have NO idea what's going on. I feel like I did when I tried to play Nobunaga's Ambition.

Drawing the Triforce shall summon Navi or Link. Shouting "Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, Heart" shall summon Captain Planet.

I'm like you, CJC -- The first two that came out here, I played... well, I'm not going to get into exactly how much I played. I spent LOTS of money buying CDs for the rare monsters, and after that, they got a little more, eh, I dunno... the art style changed. But this one looks good and it's been a while and I feel the lure drawing me back in.
